"The game of basketball."

The players use this a lot more frequently than the TV guys do, but it's annoying regardless of who says it.

"He can guard all 5 positions"

There isn't a player in the league that can do that. It's one thing to get caught in a switch and not embarrass yourself, but that doesn't mean that a guy can guard everyone from DeAndre Jordan to Chris Paul. It's asinine.
These are the opinions of one lifelong Spurs fan, nothing more

You didn't hear that much this year, right? Gotta be happy about that. :D

It's annoying to European fans how they talk like every single player from Europe was a star and/or MVP in Europe, or even come right out and say they were just that. When it's actually true in almost zero of any of the cases.

Most of the players were actually ranging from playing in a minor league, to some 10-15 man no one ever heard of, to a young prospect, to a good, not great player. But they are always "the MVP and the best player when they were in Europe", which is really funny, because how these announcers say that, there must be like 50-100 Euroleague MVPs currently playing in NBA right now, with the way they claim that.

Actually, I think there is one Euroleague MVP playing in the whole NBA...

Most of the players for example that are drafted from Europe were just playing in some minor league, or youth team, or were at best case scenario a role player. Hezonja was the third string shooting guard of his team for example. This is almost always, and I mean virtually in almost every case, this is the way it is. But the announcers always make it sound like every draft pick from Europe was a superstar in Europe, "they dominated when they were in Europe", "they were MVP of Euroleague" and on and on.

It's just really stupid nonsense. And I find that pretty much all NBA announcers do this, all of the main ones from the main channels, and all the local regional channels as well. So it can't just be a coincidence that it happens.

I think Bulls fans would be satisfied with Neil Funk just being able to properly tell the players apart.

"I'm a leader"
"trying to be a leader'
"need to be a better leader"

You can't have 15 leaders on a 15 man roster.
That's why so many teams suck. Everybody be leading and nobody be following.

Fans calling for a "Stretch 4" or "3 and D" player. What people really want is all around players that excel in those categories as well as every other category, and then get mad when the player they literally asked for isn't more than that billing. There's like two or three players in the NBA that exemplify those terms, with their actually unique skill-set, and that's it, and I don't know who they are (Ryan Anderson, and Klay Thompson?). It's like saying "just plug in an athletic wing like Vince".

I actually like most of these clique phrases, and they may be a part of the lore NBA has for me.

One thing that I didnt like however, or wouldnt like, was watching Miami Heat in a hurdle before a game and LeBron was giving a speach to his team. And in like 30 seconds, he called them "dog" about 10 times.
If I were there, I would be like: "What the hell? Why the hell are you calling me a dog, you have a problem or something?"
I know some people call themselves this, but still. its not that I have any religious reasons for this. I just find it weird to forced into a pack mentality, and accept being called a dog. Why cant he call them guys, brothers, lads, folks...?
