Honestly, if you have your rear view mirror, you don't even really need the side mirrors. It's much more important.

No, side mirrors are way more important. If you're changing lanes on a busy road without checking your side mirrors, then I hope you're not driving near me.

I don't think rearview mirrors are really required. Otherwise these things would not be legal:

A. You can check where cars are with your rearview mirror.
B. You should be looking in the lane with your eyes and not just your mirror anyways.

That combination kind of makes side mirrors irrelevant.

How can he see the haters in the back seat if he removes the rear view? He's walking on dangerous ground.

Wow, I hope you don't drive often or on the highway. If you don't use your side mirrors, then I hope you learn to use them asap. This is why people get in accidents when changing lanes from right to left, bc they don't know how to use side mirrors.

I once saw Ricky Davis driving down South Beach...you could barely see his head peeking over the dash.

No, they get in accidents because they are distracted, are too nervous, or get too dependent on things like side mirrors. It has nothing to do with side mirrors. Obviously if you have a trailer or something you need them. But if you don't and keep track of where people are with your rear-view and actually look before you change lanes, it's much more reliable.
