To think these people will suddenly stop being dubs fans after the team gets better seems like a ridiculous construct to me.

It's not like the Warriors are pronouncing themselves "America's Team" or they are promising "not one, not two, not three" championships. All in all they are a confident yet humble group. I believe they will become more popular as more people are exposed to their talent and exciting style of play.

As was pointed out in another thread, popularity and being hated are not mutually exclusive. I believe the number of fans will far outweigh the number of haters. Of course that will not be reflected on sites like this one.

I'm sorry to say this, but the confident yet humble label went out the window the first time Draymond Green opened his mouth.

So... Steph, Klay, and the other Warriors are arrogant because of something Draymond said? As for Draymond, have you listened to the hours of radio he has done? All the pre and post game interviews? I have, and he doesn't strike me as arrogant compared to a lot of other NBA players. It is pretty tiresome to keep reading other teams' fans taking shots at the character of the players on GS based on a few "sensationalized" incidents of one of their players.

After reading the general board for the last 2-3 years, I now understand why Bogut got his ring fitted for his middle finger.

I actually don't dislike Draymond Green. He's a solid player, he's very smart and I like his game. I don't like some of his antics on the court, but I think he's a good player and has definitely made the most of his physical talents on the court.

That said, there's no way you could characterize him as confident yet humble.

You want confident yet humble? Look at Kawhi Leonard, or Tim Duncan before him. Even Kevin Durant fits the mold. You can look at Al Horford. Amongst younger players, you can look at Karl-Anthony Towns.

But not Draymond.

And the more that the rest of the team picks up on Draymond's personality, the less that confident yet humble label applies.

In fact, if you were to describe Draymond as confident yet humble, name a few teams in the league that don't fit the label confident yet humble? Other than the odd loudmouth like Nick Young, pretty much every player in the league is confident yet humble if we're willing to grant Draymond that label.
Interviewer: Championship #2?
Ujiri: Hey...We're gonna get it. I don't know when it'll be, but we're gonna get it. Just like I said we'll get the first one and I said I didn't know when we'd get it...But we will. Guarantee you we will.

Superteams have always been good for the NBA. 80s Celtics/Lakers, 90s Bulls, Kobe/Shaq, Boston big 3, Miami's big 3, this Warriors teams.

Those teams made the NBA more money than the 94 Rockets, 03 Spurs, or 06 Heat. I don't necessarily "like" it as a fan, but that's Cuban's point. Every time there is a close game between the Warriors and someone else I'll tune in and root for the underdogs. Every loss they have will be a huge deal, and if they go on a massive win streak that will be a huge deal also.

Embrace the hate. As a Bulls fan I loved it when other fans talked about how much they hated Joakim Noah, how much they hated Dennis Rodman, how they hated Jordan destroying their team. Feel their hate flow through you and make you more powerful than you can possibly imagine. The hate for the Warriors has only just started and you will have countless opportunities to laugh at the hatred of other fans as they feel despair because of your team. I'm jealous of the amount of hate your team receives, so cherish the hatred while it lasts. I long for the days when I can hear people again talk about how much they hate the Bulls. I would love to have Draymond on the Bulls so I could hear other fans talk about how they can't stand him.

I have never said Draymond is confident and humble, in fact, I've never heard anyone say that (including Draymond). I'm pretty sure you and I will agree there is a huge area between "confident and humble" and arrogant. I notice you aren't applying arrogant to Draymond like others in this thread have, so my bad it came across that way.

I don't think Draymond's attitude affects the core essence of the other players' personalites (I believe personality traits are deeply ingrained at an early age). I think it's a matter of Draymond getting their competitive spirits going rather than Draymond changing their character.

I don't rule out Steph being in the confident yet humble group...
