I believe DRPM is influenced by steals, rebounds and blocks, and Klay doesn't get many of any of those.

This is a great example of why people's understanding and over reliance of DRPM as a metric sucks. Klay isn't a mediocre defender.

If Klay was a good defender, DRPM would be the stat to bear that out since his counting stats aren't anything special. Truth is, Klay's individual DRTG has been below GSW team DRTG every year of his career since his rookie year, so he's not having some huge impact on D. But I guess your "eye test" (or, more likely, blind following the false narrative that Klay is some elite defender) trumps every piece of statistical evidence against him.

i find it funny that the pistons had only one player in the top 20 (reggie bullock, #19 SG) yet have consistently had a top 10 defense the past few years.

You keep placing your faith in something that I will state with 100% certainty you don't even know how it was calculated, that clearly favors bigs, and clearly favors stats that really aren't representative or all encompassing of defense, and should't be used to compare across positions like you just did. I didn't say he was elite, you just said the word elite. I said he's not mediocre, as in better than mediocre, but continue with your narrative if you think it encompasses everything in a tidy package. It doesn't.
