Except he just went up against the #2 defense in the league while getting doubled most of the time he touched it lol. With Hayward out he got even more attention.

If Hayward comes back for most of this series that’s less attention that’ll be on him from Miami than what Toronto was throwing at him...

Do you watch the games or just read box scores?

As reading comprehension may not be your talent, I'll help you out on this on. Saying Iguodala and the other heat defenders have quick hands that punish loose handles isnt me saying Tatum didnt face good defenders against the Raptors. Not all great defenders play with quick hands or risky swipes. Read, process, assimilate

Celtics offense seems to be underrated here because of the series with raps. The raptors are one of the best defensive teams, offense is going to look much better against the Heat. Not saying the Heat defense isn't good but the raptors are better by a decent margin on defense.

Raptors D has quick hands too. One of the best, if not the best, perimeter D in the league. Team was 2nd in the league in steals, and 2nd in the league in deflections as well.

They do. He also had the ball stolen a bit against Raptors D as well, especially driving through the middle. He'll have to be more careful in this series as they pose the same risk. Their defensive hands are especially concentrated with their wing defense. It's especially tiring when even the bench guys (like Iggy) pose the same risk

Assuming Hayward is of no more help than, say, Iggy:

Celtics in 6, with each team winning at least one blowout. Spoelstra's a very good coach, but he doesn't have the mad-scientist orientation that helped Nurse extend the 2nd-round series.

I bet most people looked at them at as a "treadmill" team and thought that they had no future. They prove that you can stay competitive and with the right moves, plus a little luck, go on a long playoff run.

IDK. MIA has some nice young talent, but none of them projects to have superstar potential. They beat a fraudulent MIL team this year, but they don't stack up well against teams with superstar firepower in the future.

I agree that they don't stack up well against teams with "superstar firepower" but who would've thought they had a real shot at making it to the finals?

In the offseason I bet most people thought there was very little Miami could do to improve. Then they traded for Butler, picked up Nunn for free, drafted well (Herro), saw improvement from Bam/Duncan Robinson, and made trades that have helped them in the playoffs so far (Crowder/Iggy).

Celtics is a more talented team. Their only disadvantage is the center position.
But they have 4 players who are talented in offense. Walker, Brown, Tatum, Hayward.
They may not be alphas but they are very good all of them.
There is no other team in the league with 4 offensive talented players.
Miami is a tough team but there is not a #1option there. Butler is not a big scorer.
So, my prediction is Celtics but we will see, it will be a fan to watch series

Heat in 6.

I predict Duncan Robinson is going to have his best playoff series thus far in his young NBA career.

I wonder if these play offs will lift the curse of Daniel Theis at some point. He still get called like a rookie on the defensive end, when in reality he is a veteran.

If Theis can play normal defense without being in foul trouble every other game, people will look differently at Bam after the series.

Mustache Hayward. I really want him back :(
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Heat in 6
Bam should be the key to this series.

Celtics in 6. Heat match up worse against them than the Raptors.

I predict he'll be ready by Game 2.

I'm a bit worried that he might disrupt our chemistry though, his rustiness might hinder us. Brad needs to think about bringing him off the bench for the majority of the series and letting Smart start.

Heat in 7. They are the hottest team in the bubble and they are very deep.

I'm going to go with Celtics in 6. Lakers/Celtics Finals rematch. Celtics back in the NBA Finals after losing ECF in 2012, 2017 and 2018.
