Some people actually take the pandemic seriously. I didn't fly to my family for my sister's wedding. None of my family have met my 9 month old daughter. When I zoomed in to my family's Christmas, everybody was wearing a mask.

Too much speculation about what’s going on in Kyrie’s head, it’s no wonder he despises the media.

What makes this virus deadly is how easily it spreads. Who cares about percentages when this is pushing 400 000 Americans killed and has topped 4000 deaths in a single day last week...

Totally irresponsible.

Lack of respect for his team, coach, team mates and the fans, who I said in another thread are paying for his salary.

Not sure how anyone can defend a d*ck move like this.

I get it you want to attend your sister’s bday but miss 4-5 games in the process ?!!! I also get it that there are more important things in life than basketball, but if I’m getting $40M per year to play basketball, I’m going to make sure I’ll be out there playing as much as I can.

He probably doesn’t realize how blessed he is; & is taking things for granted...

& I thought he was a big fan of Kobe... you think Kobe would stand for any of this sh*t???

I think Nets fans are now going to start realizing what Celtics fans and Cavs fans struggled to realize for a long time.

Kyrie is an amazing basketball talent. He seems like a great person from all I’ve read about his charitable endeavors. But he’s just different. And he does stuff like this that just cannot sit well within a locker room.

Barry Sanders did what he felt was best for his health. I'm not sure why Kyrie would retire anytime soon as long as he's making $31+ million per season and when he signs a new deal in a couple of season he most likely will be paid $40m per season or more. I get he said he will retire early but I don't believe it happens until he reaches his peak career pay.

Barry did well for himself but he made $33m in his career on paper before agent fees and taxes.Barry had no help in Detroit and he knew what the outcome would be if he continued to play. Kyrie is about to past her career earning per session soon.

could be worst ! i've seen some responsible strippers wearing masks and giving socially distanced entertainment

going to a maskless gathering while his teammates 'pray for him' and the coaches say its 'personal' is just hilariously indefensible tbh.

People are creating excuses, but it is absolutely unacceptable that he left the team completely in the dark to do this. The COVID-19 stuff makes it more nightmarish, but this is insanely unprofessional.

Can't defend Kyrie on this one. I'm fine with him missing time if he needs it, but you can't in the meantime be going to maskless parties.

His sister shouldn't be doing something like this in the first place. Stupid move.

Forget about masks & covid. That's not the main issue here. And for all we know, everyone at that party was required to test before attending. That's not uncommon these days.

The issue: You can not ghost on your team in the middle of the season. Period. The fact that I actually have to type that out is twilight zone crazy. People rushed to his defense, making up possible reasons for him needing to take leave, none of which excuse bailing without notice. And then a video surfaces of him hosting a family party. Completely unacceptable.

No mention of this on the ESPN or Yahoo sports pages, despite it being pretty well spread news across social media basketball platforms. How curious.

Woj: NBA investigating , Kyrie Not Expected Back This Week

Post#135 » by OrangeBlueSkies » Tue Jan 12, 2021 4:18 pm

Sources with
@Malika_Andrews
: As the NBA is expected to begin examining online videos circulating of a maskless Kyrie Irving at a family birthday party, there’s no belief that he will return to the Brooklyn Nets lineup this week.

Yes, harden for kyrie... the time was yesterday

Worst part is he was on an incredible tear before this. He was killing it for me in fantasy and he looked unguardable.

I’m waiting for the “mental health issues” comments. This has nothing to do with that let me shut those down now. This is about being selfish and irresponsible. So again, way to promote unity during this time of imaginable pain Kyrie.

He’s only played in 27 games as a Net of a possible 81 i believe.

I doubt the Rockets were interested in Kyrie. Kyrie and Wall makes no sense on the same team.

this guy is just exhausting, and he is super selfish, not too mention he only does what benefits himself.
