Nikola Jokic's brothers look like two hitmen from Serbia. Probably don't wanna mess with that family.

Ben Wallace, Ray Lewis, Aaron Donald....seems like these dudes look for blood

From Sports Illustrated:

Miami Heat forward James Johnson, the 6’9”, 250-pound behemoth nicknamed “Bloodsport,” isn’t impressed, either. Johnson’s combat background has been more than chronicled. Both of his parents are black belts. He and all eight of his siblings all hold black belts of varying degrees. Johnson began karate at the age of 4 and, by his 18th birthday, he secured seven world karate titles, nine national crowns, and compiled a sterling 20-0 record as a kickboxer. “You fight your weight class,” Johnson says. “I fought 26-year-olds, I fought 30-year-olds, I fought 16-year-olds, I fought 18 and 19-year-olds when I was 14, 15, 16 years old.”

Amid his ninth year in the league, Johnson’s competitive fighting career has been on pause for nearly a decade. He now spars at his father’s and uncle’s MMA gyms each offseason. It’s the perfect, unique conditioning work to disrupt the monotonous summer of jump shots. No challenger has defeated him. “I’m sure there’s someone out there in this world who can beat me. I haven’t met him yet,” Johnson says. “I’ve been knocked down before. I’ve been knocked out before, but I remember getting back up before that 10-second count and I remember winning that fight.”

It's possible and almost certainly likely these fights were fully on the amateur level hence no video, but I doubt he's made up his whole martials arts background and the fact he still trains MMA off-season.

Having any actual martial arts/combat training is a huge game changer when it comes to fights as 90%+ of people on the street have no fight training whatsoever.

So that combined with his natural size and athleticism would make him a very scary guy if a fight goes down, scarier than a crazy Ron Artest flailing around.

If you’re 27-0 in fights no one has saw, you’re 0-0.

We even have a video of him hitting pads? Live sparring?

He’s a black belt in his dads karate gym. He’s, big, he’s tough, and he’s athletic. But he has no actual fights and no background. You can find amateur fights all over the web. For a bazillion bums that have work 9-5 jobs. Every amateur and pro organization, no matter how small, films their fights and keeps at least crude records of their shows. There isn’t record of of James ever fighting, nor is there any record of his opponents, the organization he fought for, or the venue. James is 34. It’s not like his “fights” were in the 90’s.

There is literal video from like the 80’s of Joe Rogan wheel kicking people in a karate competition in like a middle school gymnasium.

Do we have even have point karate showcases from James?

If you really believe he’s a decorated fighter and there isn’t a single shred of video of him even wrapping his hands to hit a bag in 30+ years of combat training with 27 fights, and assuming countless Karate competitions( he was a black belt as a child, so he had to compete right?), then I have some real news for you about the world of fake martial arts… and a “true story” for you to watch, called Blood Sport.

I’ll be waiting for a clip from one of his many fights. They must have been in a secret Kumites in the far east

Edit: also, I agree, if James grew up throwing strikes at all, he’d probably wax 99.999% of the NBA. His parents were karate teachers, he probably has a lot of hours throwing punches and kicks. Karate does have a few benefits, especially compared to people who don’t know how to do anything, and think they can fight because they grew up in a tough neighborhood.

But his competition and fight record is completey fabricated, and a total lie to add to his tough guy persona and trained mma fighter rep he wants to carry. It’s total BS.

I honestly have never seen a play in any sport come close to this where the other player could have legit suffered a head injury intentionally. If artest hit harden in a slightly more sensitive area in the head...I could see harden having lost some hearing or vision... Football doesn't really count either cause I've never seen someone run up on a guy in a football game and elbow the side of their head

OP makes a great point and I would agree. Unhinged is a great word to describe Artest IN GAME....

It honestly kinda blows my mind too that major media circles like the jump continue to feature artest on their show given his dirty court antics while players like AI never pop back up on shows like it.

I remember watching this game. Un-hinged was the correct word. Harden was up to his NBA tough guy antics and Artest just went ballistic. Artest could have really hurt Harden, knocked him out for the game too. I don't condone Artest's elbow, but loads of NBA softies before then too, but they wouldn't mess with a couple of people. Artest was one of those guys. Harden ran into him while he was turning and Artest walloped in. You can see Ibaka going tough guy to defend Harden until Artest got into a fighting stance and Ibaka backed off too.

Ron Artest proved he isn't the monster he's made out to be after he got thoroughly punked by Ben Wallace, but had no problem attacking some 150lbs fan
