Would the Pacers even make that trade at this point? As I mentioned... like, what team is going to take the risk with him now? There's literally nothing stopping him from pulling this crap on another team if he become unhappy with his new franchise. Not sure how many teams are willing to take on that risk when you also consider his contract size/length.

I honestly don't even think I would trade CJ for Simmons straight up at this point... If a potential Dame/Simmons duo ends up being crap and Dame demands a trade out as well, you can bet every dollar you have that Simmons would probably just copy and paste that trade demand email and shoot it off the second Dame does his.

What changed is him being totally OK with blowing up a lockerroom. It's one thing to hold out and threaten to not show up, it's another thing to show up with the sole purpose of being such a massive a-hole that you basically force your team to suspend you daily. That definitely takes it to a new level imo.

Dude just straight up no. We know the answer to this, Simmons has made it very clear he wants no part of this team at all. The only reason he is showing up is because he has to, not because he wants to. Guess what, forcing someone to do what they dont want to do wont eventually lead to them wanting to do it.

I would've thought that when Simmons rejoined the team, that actually meant he sat down with Doc and Morey to come up with a plan to move him. Both sides come out publicly kind of painting the other side in a brighter light and they coming out saying they will move Simmons. That is the best chance of stopping the slide of his value and to move him now.

But you force a guy who all summer has made it very clear he wants nothing to do with this organization back. And expect things to be all rainbows and sunshine? Now things are even worse, you got Embiid today flat out saying he doesnt care about Simmons at all. Morey couldn't have botched this anymore.

Morey is emblamatic of the type of guys that are comfortable with numbers and data, but have zero clue of the human element of business. All these people blowing smoke up his ass have led him to believe he’s smarter than he really is. Morey, Doc, Sixers fans are all delusional and deserve each other.

It's amazingly refreshing to have a player who simply says what he thinks. I'm not sure if I even agree with him much of the time but I. appreciate his honesty. He's actually almost too honest to a fault but I rather have that instead of the usual PR spin that comes out of most front officers and locker rooms these days.

The stupidest part is he's trying to get traded but this ish is only going to make teams less interested in trading for him.

He told the Sixers he's not going to participate in rehabbing this value, and the only reason they're dragging this on is the hopes that he will. I don't think his value can get lower. At this point all 29 other GMs have thought deeply about the pros and cons of Simmons the player and personality.

Nahhh, one thing is now and the other is what happens when the season begins and teams begin to underperform.

Totally agree. Never underestimate the stupidity of a GM trying to saving his own ass. I can see a GM on the cusp of being fired taking a flyer on Simmons out of sheer desperation.

Silver lining of all this is Embiid getting to define himself as the real one in contrast to everything Ben has done. He’s stepped into being the no-bs guy, the team first/winning first guy, the bring-on-the-hate guy, basically everything Philly wants its sports stars to be. He’s become a classic Philly hero without having to play a minute of bball just because of a few key reactions to the Simmons saga.
