Same thing last year with Edwards, now look at how much he's developed.

The difference between Edwards and Cade is that Edwards was chucking horrible jump shots in the first half of his rookie season and bricking them. His shot selection was terrible but he was still able to blow by defenders regularly and showcase his elite athleticism. Cade wasn't able to do that in Summerleague, preseason and now the regular season.

Interesting, he didnt play in any preseason games and he looked quiet good in summer league.

Like I said earlier in this thread - he doesn't have to be some athletic freak to be successful in the league.

Detroit should be letting Cade play in this garbage time so he can get in reps in low pressure situations. Casey is so dumb lol

I wasn't super high on Cade.

But he isn't going to be the next Fultz. He is a very good 3 point shooter. At some point he will have confidence there and knock down those shots. Not convinced he is a PG though, probably a SG. Middleton is a good comparison.

Isn't Cade coming back form injury? Also that Det team is awful, they don't have anyone to help get some pressure off of him. People need to chill and give him some time to feel things out.

Cade and Edwards are the polar opposite, you would see it with Edwards, Edwards had it. From the first dribble, you can tell Edward had Superstart talent. Unfortunately, he was/still is dumb/inexperienced. Whereas Cade is a very smart, high effort player but hasn't shown me any tools that scream "All-NBA or even All star".

I am not saying Cade is a bust or anything, on the contrary, I think he may even be more of a positive player than Edwards in the long run. It's just that he seems very underwhelming for a first pick when considering you have a guy like Mobley and Barnes.

Cade will be fine, too good of a shooter and a great feel for the game to be a bust.

Only thing that legit concerns me is his size, he's definitely not 6'8 lol. He looks like a 6'7 at best with a small frame.

How tall is Cade? About a year ago, reports had him at 6’8”. He looks somewhere around 6’5”, maybe a bit taller.

Agreed, and he was just given a contract extension. Cade spent half the game standing in the corner three spot, uninvolved in the offense. It didn’t help that he missed every time they did pass him the ball in the corner. That can’t be the best way to build your star rookie’s confidence up.

Searching it up, Detroit has him at 6'6 lol.

I think he'll still be one of the better players in the draft but BIG YIKES

Does Edwards really have Superstar talent? He’s pretty darn inefficient. Classic volume chucker shooting his team out of games, following the Wiggins path. 101 ORTG and 49% TS% are both pretty bad.

People said Cade didn't look great in college cause his teammates sucked. People said he didn't look great in summer league because his teammates suck.

Now he doesn't look great cause his NBA teammates suck? More like dude just isn't that special. What does he do that screams NBA star?? I don't get it. Got bashed all year in the Cade draft thread for saying the same thing. I literally don't get what people ever see him as far as people in there calling him the next Doncic, better passer than LaMelo etc. Legit horrible scouting on this site

The big problem with Wiggins was that Wiggins never improved after his rookie season and regressed until he got to Golden State. Also, aside from scoring, he literally did not do anything else on the court. He never got rebounds, assists, steals, or blocks. Edwards already seems to be an improved player in his 2nd season, and he already has better rebound and assists numbers than Wiggins did.
