Frontrunner for DPOY?

Here are the current odds for DPOY:
1. Gobert (-160) - You gotta bet $160 to win $100
2. Giannis (+425) - Bet $100 to win $425
...
...
...
8. Bam (+4000) - Bet $100 to win $4,000

Not sure how much of a frontrunner that is.

Bam should've been a 3x All Star by now. Kind of sad that he has only gotten better since the first All Star selection and hasn't made it again.

Miami Heat are the most disrespected team in the NBA by far. They're alot better than people give them credit for and even though they're 1st in the East, they get little to no national talk or national TV games.

It's not so much that we're disrespected, it's that we don't have that sexy star player. We don't have that guy who just takes over and scores 30 a night, every night. We just go out and win on a regular basis, sometimes with guys no one has ever heard of...

I think the only reason that's the case is because the Heat play an egalitarian style that ask to defer primarily to Jimmy, but Herro is more than capable of being that guy and Miami needs to give him the keys soon enough. Jimmy simply has limitations in his game that keeps him from being a volume scorer that Herro doesn't have.

Tyler Herro is a very handsome young man and Kyle Kardashian is known around the world for his assets so I'm gonna disagree about them not being sexy enough.

5th best center maybe after Jokic, Embiid, Gobert, and Towns. With guys like Jokic, Embiid, Giannis, Doncic, Morant, Curry, Durant, etc.. Bam doesnt really stand a chance.

Lol overrated. Weird take

Bam has made one of the past 3 allstar games with two 2nd team all-defense nods. You rarely hear about him on the national stage. Not sure about your concept of the term, but for me, overrated means... actually being overrated by someone other than the TS of this thread

Bam is a big impact player. He is the exact opposite of overrated unless you are talking about top 10 player.

Yeah it was a puzzling post

It would be one thing if the poster said Bam is overrated by TS, but he calls Bam "one of the more overrated players in the game today" as if Bam is getting spammed with awards and being talked about everywhere lol. Bam is an under the radar guy whose impact is greater than his stats. Like you said, the exact type of player who generally gets underrated

Bam is probably 3rd best player on a Title contender tier which is still really valuable to have.

Miami lost that series 4-2 to the Lakers.

In a normal Title team do you believe Bam is better than Prime Butler?

Do you believe prime Butler can be the best player on a Title winning team?

Butler was pretty much the main reason why the Heat didn’t get swept in the Finals. One of the best Finals performances in a losing effort in NBA history. Something like 26/8/9 on 62%ish TS for the series guarded by LeBron/AD, without Bam/Dragic.

A Jimmy/Bam led team ran through the East 12-3. No matter what excuse one would use to downplay the bubble, an 80% win rate against the best teams in your conference is highly impressive. None of their series went to 7 games.

Imo Butler is a #2 on a title winning team, Bam is a #3.

Yes #2 type players can go off, Klay is a good example.

But imo, the Heat are missing that true #1 option since Wade/Lebron.

Butler & Klay are completely different players with different roles. Butler was creating offense for himself and others while Klay is more of a complementary scorer/finisher. Majority of his scoring was assisted while Jimmy was unassisted, creating everything, either for himself or others. Jimmy was getting way more defensive attention in the Finals, especially without it's 2nd/3rd best player. Klay is extremely overrated IMO.

Alot of Klay's success comes from not having to worry about creating for himself while using the defensive attention given to Curry, to his advantage
