They were up 51 to 50 when he got injured in game 4 lol. You act like they were up 30 smh.

And you’re acting like the Lakers were winning when they weren’t. How can you say lakers had all the momentum when the Suns were starting to roll in that second quarter and took the lead going into half?

Somethings are better just not said at all. The lakers are going to be playing the Suns in the first round. Assuming they can get past the play-in

Why give your most likely playoff matchup bulletin board material. Making the suns extra motivated will just make it more difficult to pull off the upset, and more likely they’ll want to just embarrass the lakers off the floor

I've always been skeptical of the concept of bulletin board material. These guys made it to the top of a very competitive industry and millions of dollars in endorsement opportunities are regularly given to players on winning teams.

How come Laker fans always say they were winning when AD went down? It's a flat out lie.

They were down 4 at halftime and that's when AD left and didn't return.

I must have seen the "the Lakers were up 10 points before AD went down" thing posted about a dozen times. It's really puzzling how that narrative seems to persist when it's easily debunkable. The Suns were leading 51-50 when Davis collapsed to the floor after landing from a lay-up attempt, then the Suns hit a three-pointer on the other end as Davis was slow to get up - the score when he exited was 54-50.

Link to the moment it happened - with the score at the bottom of the screen

So you expect us to believe your facts and video evidence over some Lakers fans memory?

AND LA won games 2 and 3 with Paul seriously injured without use of one arm. With him only playing half a game in game 1 they beat the Lakers, plus AD was 2 for 9 in game 4 when he got injured.

Suns was about to even the series at 2 2 you mean.... why would you assume Lakers would be up 3 1 when Suns were playing well even with Paul injured and Davis having a bad game.

In all fairness Suns looked dominant in Game 1 when CP3 was healthy and Davis was too. Suns were better based on stat's and eye test. Lakers got to 6 games thanks to Paul getting hurt in Game 2.

Lakers got lucky the 8-0 bubble Suns who had their own injuries fell 1 game short of the play in when LeVert missed a shot against Portland that allowed them to make the play in.

Joking but all these hypotheticals are ridiculous.

Last year the Suns were essentially missing THEIR best player for ALL of the Lakers wins and for half of a Suns win.

AD should thank his stars that he got 4 months off to heal whatever was ailing him during the Covid stoppage. Based on history, he would have been either hurt and watching from the sidelines or at 50% hobbling on the court.

The audacity of this guy talking about luck. The entire mickey mouse ring was all luck. Maybe he forgot

Only because CP3 was seriously injured. The Suns were a vastly different team without him.

They were fine without cp3, just like they are now. They struggled when he tried to play hurt, but when he straight up sat games they didnt miss a beat and were arguably better with payne running the show. Played much faster. Seemed like LA was going to beat them if AD didnt go down, and that was with a hobbled Lebron all series as well. Phoenix looks different this year, but they and the bucks got lucky last season.

CP3 was by far their best player in the Denver series, with 25.5, 10.3. 5 and 1.5 on 74.3 TS%. In the Clippers series it was probably Ayton, but Paul was the 2nd best...far better than Payne, and scored 41 in the close out game.

Then against the Bucks, he was the best player again (Ayton may have been early) but Paul ended up averaging 22 and 8, shooting 55% from the field and over 52% from 3..over a 62% TS%.

He was one of two guys with real playoff experience on the team and his leadership and intangibles are invaluable.

To say they were as good or better with Payne than CP3 is ridiculous. CP3 was an MVP candidate while Payne was out of the league a year prior to that. He improved and played well, but not anything like CP3.

I really hope suns can win it all this year.

It would be a good bet that they do. I don’t see anyone stopping them

They went 2-0 without him in the western conference finals. Payne averaged 20/9/4 with 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in his two starts. In the lakers series, when both CP3 and Lebron were not operating at 100%. I think LA was about to beat them until AD went down.

I guess we will see this year. Can you name the healthy teams either of them beat on their way to the finals? The atlanta hawks? Both appeared to be overmatched in series when the other team was close to 100% ( nets series for bucks, although Harden was never close to healthy, Lakers series for suns, although lebron was playing hurt). Otherwise what healthy teams did either play? Enlighten me.....
