It hit her around that area but not right in the eye, thankfully.

It's silly what Miles did but you don't need to make it sound worse than it was.

Signed jersey, courtside tickets for the girl and her family with free snacks and souvenirs, meet and greet with players after the game.

Pay a fine, publicly apologize, post photo with the girl online.

I think that should do the trick.

Get the girl some courtside seats, a couple of jerseys and a few pairs of trainers. Some nice photos of her with him and a few other players.

Clearly meant to hit the douche bag fan gurning over the side of the stands - clearly sits there to do exactly that, so that needs dealing with.

Suspension would seem harsh, maybe a small fine and a final warning.

Why was the fan a “douche bag”?

He didn’t touch him, throw anything at him, say anything offensive that we know of. What exactly did this fan do wrong other than mock Bridges for getting thrown out which fans do all the time?

Bridges did the right thing owning up to this and apologizing in the end at least

Grown man clearly buying seats with the primary reason to hurl abuse at athletes? Yeah, he's a douche bag. You can even see him hoping he is on the jumbotron.

Players can’t have it both ways. They’re up in arms when fans get handsy with them (for good reason and I completely agree). They can’t then argue that lashing out physically at a fan who is doing nothing more than booing you is somehow ok.

To his credit, Bridges didn’t do this. He admitted he was wrong although I wonder if he would have had the same reaction if his mouthpiece would have hit the guy instead of the kid.

what he did wasn't cool at all regardless of who he was aiming for or hit, but he acknowledged that he did wrong and is trying to reach out to her to apologize. as bad as what he did is, it seems to me he's doing the right thing after.

He has major Morris twins/Marcus Smart vibes.

yeah, with how badly he played last night, i would be very wary about giving him a max contract in rfa. maturity was severely lacking, but maybe he'll grow enough from this to show the hornets he's worth the contract.

Maturity was a issue with him since day 1, the Hornets knew what they were getting. I do wonder if that effects his pricetag come extension time. Cant imagine the front office is happy seeing the 'face of their franchise' posting pregame videos with him getting high.

To be fair ... he couldn't hit the bucket all night ... how did you expect him to hit the correct fan?

That's 100% correct. A fan tosses a plastic cup at Ron Artest they get a lifetime ban from the Arena. What does a player get for throwing something, similarly lightweight, at a fan that hits them in the face. Honestly think 1 game might be too light.

Ya'll might be forgetting but we already have precedence. Steph hit a fan with his mouthpiece in game 6 in 2016 and he threw his mouthpiece at a ref in 2017. He got a $50,000 fine for the latter but no suspension for either.

Curry threw his mouthguard out of frustration... he was in the middle of the court. He didn't mean to hit the fan. Bridges was right next to the fans and intentionally threw it at them. It's a very different situation. Curry was wreck-less but what Bridges did was 100 times worse he threw it with intent to hit a fan.

Ur seriously reaching now dude. Both instances were out of frustration. Both instances were accidents. Yes, accidents. He meant to throw it at a specific fan heckling, but accidentally hit the poor girl. ACCIDENT.

Figuratively of course. Bridges would have to do a lot more PR if he put his lips anywhere near this girls behind.

Canada is a first world country ... as are Most European countries. They aren't litigious. Americans sue over everything

It’s an American thing which then promoted snowflake culture which transformed into its latest form cancel culture.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

don’t worry if your daughter gets hit with a mouthpiece it will be a funny story forever. it’s really not some traumatic thing. i mean you’re really scared of that?

Well, you can say he's hurling abuse at athletes but we don't know exactly what he said. He might say he was simply celebrating an opponent getting tossed. Hoping to see himself on the Jumbotron isn't an offense either. We can't try to "police" stuff like this with the argument that he didn't cross a line this time but may cross a line in the future. That's a slippery slope. Slippery slopes are only slippery if we start climbing them.

yea, putting even one iota of blame on the fan is completely moronic. The guy was waving and wasn't even looking at Bridges. Didn't get in Bridges face or even say anything to him. Just waving and looking at the jumbotron. If they kicked that fan out (and i think they did) I hope he sues the **** out of the arena and security.

I don't think you understand the definition of the word accident as it pertains to a situation like this.

Did Bridges intend to throw his mouthpiece into the stands? YES
Therefore, any results from that intentional act can not be classified as accidents.

Another example: Two guys get in a bar fight. One of them misses with a punch and strikes a bar patron instead. Is that an accident? Of course not. It's battery.

Not saying Bridges should be arrested, but to claim that the result of his intentional bad act was an accident is logically and legally incorrect.

That sucks, but honestly the refs escalated here and lost their cool ejecting him for no reason.

That shouldn't even be a tech in the playoffs, players are going to get upset getting blown out in the playoffs and the refs are supposed to understand context in their calls. That's why they're humans or we'd just have programs make the calls from a video feed.

This. What he did is wrong but I'm glad he's owning up to it immediately and is going through the effort to personally apologize to the fan himself rather than just do an apology over social media. That's lazy and doesn't feel real. I commend him for the fact that he's trying to at least reach out to her to express his feelings that he was wrong on the matter and to make it up to her in anyway that he can.
