Albatros contract. I can't blame Beal to secure this kind of money, Washington on the other hand... meh

You start to feel like NBA owners are so rich that their franchises are treated more like video games than professional organizations. Somehow, no matter how often these types of contracts never work out, NBA owners keep giving them. Please stop hating the players for being rich and realize someone far wealthier and with more business experience than them thought it was a great investment.

And there is nothing wrong with getting paid quarter billion to do that.

There are people on this tread working jobs they hate with people and organizations that they hate complaining about a Beal playing basketball for 50 mil a year .....saying Beal isn’t a winner......

Exactly.

In real life, what's more important?

A quarter billion dollars or an NBA championship ring that will collect dust somewhere.

If someone wants to pay me a quarter billion to be mediocre, I am taking my quarter billion.

Max contracts, supermax contracts, salary cap, the draft is all about keeping MVP level players from getting paid as much as they are worth. It allows mediocre teams with mediocre owners to overpay above average talent like Beal that can drag his team to an 8th seed every 3 years.

If the NBA didn't have a salary cap, silly max contracts, and the NBA Draft, players like Beal , Tobias Harris and Joe Johnson wouldn't be getting 100 million dollar plus contracts.

But, nah, y'all fans so worried about Lakers putting Lebron James and Nikola Jokic on the same team because everyone wants to play in LA, according to fans.

It's hilarious, America, the most capitalistic country in the world that is all about competition, choices and markets, yet sports fans want to restrict the movement of labor and capital so they crappy team with their crappy owner can have a chance.

Doesn’t this grease the wheels for Beal to Lakers for Westbrook and two 1sts? Wizards quite literally just drafted Beal’s replacement (Davis) and Beal is the lone vet that doesn’t fit the timeline.

It's a little confusing, but it sounds like you think the fans are responsible for the way the league is run. Basketball fans will watch no matter how the league is run. Someone so well-versed in "the most capitalistic country in the world" must know that the owners make the rules no matter what the fans would like.

What a ridiculous way to manage assets by Washington. Thing is, everyone saw this from 100 miles away slowly unfold.
