Maybe present Kareem too?

(for the record, I think it's awesome Dwight signed there, has posted videos of going to night markets, fans cheering for him, etc.)

When I saw the thread title, I assumed that Dwight was doing a "different" kind of scoring in Taiwan just like Wilt used to. Needless to say that I came away disappointed after reading the OP.

Well. This thread is an adventure.

Anyway, gives you a read on how good NBA players really are. We sit here and ask "why doesn't x player bring out x skill in games?" It's because the defenders are **** good.

Uhh.. well.. UPDATE FROM TAIWAN

Dwight got knee injury, unable to play for two weeks. Seems the league is not that easy.

Back to back 45 minutes might still be too much for his age, even though he can be lazy at times on the court. His coach is known for bad temper and emotional but don’t dare to say a word to him, always give him big smile.

Yeah man I bet you and every dude in NCAA or or in highschool or AAU would dominate just like this.

Me…. I’m happy for Dwight and I wish I could dominate the 24 hour or Lifetime fitness courts anywhere on earth like that just once… once

But that’s just me - you… you think Dwight looks horrible for his age and skill set playing internationally against pros that WOULD dominate damn near every local gym - y’all kill me with this double disrespect- he isn’t an nba player anymore

is anyone watching the clip??

i just mean in a basketball sense, he's stuffing around, turning it over. thats why i called it a side show.

Speaking as someone who has dominated far more than that, I can tell tell you it's ridiculously fun.

Dwight had more people watching than I did, though, which probably adds a lot to the fun factor.

Speaking as someone who has dominated far more than both you and Dwight. I too can also confirm that the fun is quite plentiful.

I did it against tougher competition though which probably adds a lot to the fun factor.

Playing in the driveway against your son doesn't count.

god damn it lol I bought like 4 tickets to this Sunday's game. Now I'm going to be watching Deyonta Davis and Troy Williams and a bunch of mini-men play basketball. Didn't know Taiwanese Thibs was Dwight's coach.

Dwight Howard was generally known as a clown. Remember when he turned down 33 million dollars in LA so he could go play in Houston, where he failed miserably?

It seems as his salary went down, he became more humble, and some say he redeemed himself coming back to LA for less money but I will always question the bubble championship. 2020 was the only year I didn't tune into the playoffs, not even once

It starts with the D

Its mind-blowing how popular the D-word has become.
Just about every tv show has a character whose called somebody a d***.
Its like nobody can think of a curse word to use instead of d***.
So weird :o

Every other word we used to use was taken away from us. Not that we should have been using them in the first place, but still.

Well.. according the two games that I watched, it is more because of offense than of defense.

He shot 10 threes because he might think he is their better 3PT shooter(can not say he is totally wrong), and he has the confidence to do so after seeing his lousy teammates in the first half. He figured it out. No one can block his shot anyway. He can shoot threes and long twos all he wants in the NBA if he is allowed also, so I think it is more because of offense. He think he is the best option, and fans like to see it also help the case.

He indeed is their best slasher and low post scorer, so totally justified to shoot as much as he wants. However, as I said in earlier post, the move is still not beautiful.

He is the best option in offense, hence, he is trigger happy.

I watched the whole thing-

Re-watch it - he is initially trying to do too much

but in the second half as the game gets tight he starts doing the hell off-

Two 3s followed by a give and go pull up for a midrange j That’s all bottoms -

Bringing the ball up and passing out of double teams

Forces OT then on the last shot by the opposing team rejects the shot into the nether zone-

Yeah I saw an engaged guy go hard once he got it going

He played within the flow and brought them back as game got late- he was freaking FUN to watch.

Are you guys only interested in basketball in its purest sense or do you have fun watching people play a game..?

This was a game and it was fun to watch… im not invested in the outcome as much as the fun of the sport

He could have done it in the nba but his dribble would get picked off every time on drives and he wouldn't have the space to shoot accurately. That's why I'm talking about defense. His offensive game is much more limited here.

and why is that video clip relevant?

1) the video clip showed how amazing that Lillard shot was, that's it
2) Dwight was the best Houston player in that series, again not sure what this video clip was trying to achieve
3) turning down 33 mil from Lakers at that time was the right decision. Kobe retired 3 years after that, and LA didn't make the playoffs 6 years in a row after Dwight left

Dwight chose a young harden over an injured Kobe and an old Nash. I'm a Laker fan, but Houston had the better player at the time in Harden. Dwight gave up money for a better basketball situation and a chance to win. How is that being a clown

he looks more like he's putting up his prime numbers, which is still a feat in and of itself., but turning into Wilt is quite the over exaggeration

I had a friend who worked his way from community college programme to D2 to D1 basketball and he said basketball is the same at every level but the time and space to do anything keeps getting shorter and smaller as you work your way up in competition level. I thought that was an apt description from someone who's made that progress.
