No, and last night's performance could very well undo some of the legacy Harden built up with his amazing game 1.

Harden once had Beverly, Ariza, Dwight around him. I don't think Green's biggest value would be defense if you pair him with Harden. If anything, having Green initiate some of the plays from 20ft might not only take some plays off Harden (something he never had outside of CP3), but also force him to move more off ball instead of having to initiate the offense from top of the key every single time. Dude just got gassed come every playoffs. He is not LeBron.

It all started with Harden & Lin in year 1 and very soon Harden completely took over, rightfully so. I always wonder what if he had a more assertive PG, someone like Conley during that part of his Houston career. He might have turned into a less ISO, more versatile "off ball" version. You never know how players would develop in different setups.

This can't be stressed enough. Harden was simply asked to carry way too much of a load over his peak years. His asma was a hendernce as well.

I still remember 2016 was one of the most anticipated season to start with, but it went down hill real quick. After 15 WCF, we landed Ty Lawson and I was really big on him. I think he was going to take us to the next level. The guys who we shipped away before him? Palbo Prigioni, Nick Johnson, Tony Douglas, Tyler Honeywell. I don't even know how many recognize these names outside of maybe Prigioni.

Then Lawson had that terrible season opening of 20pt beatdown in Denver (out of all the places), followed by a season to forget. I truly wonder what if we a Conley or Holiday back then instead of this much troubled Lawson guy, because the season after Harden went the opposite way by going full time PG himself.

Harden is a very good player, but he's a ball dominant guard whose game really just doesn't elevate other players. That's the fallacy of judging players off of the box score and individual stats alone.

What happens if you multiply the number of championships James Harden has by the number of championships Steph Curry has? Does the number go up?

Whoops! In your other thread you're wondering why we're talking about Harden. Well folks like you overrate him in threads like these, so we talk about where Harden's rightful place is -- far below someone like Steph.

9 points on 3/11 shooting for Harden when it mattered most. James struggles in big moments and will never have a 50 point game 7 carry like Steph.
