So despite the bad loss to DOM, Italy can now easily advance to the next round on assumption that KAT and company does not lose to Angola and Italy does not lose to the Philippines by more than 12 pts.

Angola (if L to DOM) - 1-2
-4 pts difference

Philippines (if W vs ITA) 1-2
Say they win (LOL) by 13 pts
+3

Italy (if L vs PHI) 1-2
+1

Of course, that’s just the Filipino in me talking, we don’t stand a chance against Italy on Tuesday. LOL

But take note NBA (only) fans, this pts differential thing will be likely used in the in-play tournament to break the ties if am not mistaken.

I found our problem: we are stupid
Frank Ntilikina is a play-off player, but he goes to the Hornets.

Paris 2024 (Starters):
Ntilikina - Malédon - Hayes
Coulibaly - De Colo
TLC - Rupert or Risacher
Wembanyama- Yabusele
Embiid- Poirier - Lessort [without Embiid: Fall]

Legit but unchallenged!
I can understand Covid circumstances, but setting the roster before friednly games limits competition between players. Oh could Maledon or Hayes saying to their NBA team "I'll be training partnership instead of in the 18 players competiting for 12 seats"?
Saw we have not a great bench now, and our starting five is old

Yes, I officially have beef with the Italians for losing that game.

Even if Angola beats the DR, it will be very tough to advance to the next round

Same, I thought it would be some Panathinaikos stuff in there...30k strong pandemonium.

Wait a few months and you are gonna watch it again, Sloukas/Juancho/Lessort/Vildoza, maybe Svi if any NBA team don't get him, we're back in business :)

It is a small surprise. Finnish guards are awful and it was known problem in finnish team. Secretly wished coaching would invent something, but it was obvious after practice games they didn't, so it was expected that this finnish team would under perform.

And Japan had the support of home crowd, which finns didn't.

Latvian passes to nowhere adding up to too many wasted possessions.

Of course waiting for 4th quarter miracle, but yeah, missing KP really hurts... Our guys are a quality role players (well at least for European level for most part) but we just lack star-power to take down teams like France (well unless we get extra hot from 3, but that's not the case today).

Yeah just shows what a difference the presence (Luka) or absence (KP) makes for a team.

Then again, Finland had Lauri and still got eliminated, so it's not a guarantee...

Saw on Twitter someone commenting how this tournament is a reminder that de Colo is an actual player not just a contract throw in.

What did Kurucs with Nando's arm is dangerous ... He pushed him away, true, but that was not excessive seen the risk on injury

BS call to throw Nando out though, especially with review showing he was hooked the entire time and nothing for the Latvian player for it.
