Why nobody tells a positive prediction?

15ppg for Wembanyama is a very negative prediction.

A normal prediction is 22-25ppg.

And there is also a positive prediction that is more than 25ppg.

I really cannot see a better player than Wembanyama right now in NBA.
And I am not talking about the future

Nothing like setting a 19 year old up for unrealistic expectations in his first season.

The kid is great, works hard, and seems to love the game, but let’s not let the hype ruin this please.

If he ends up with 20ppg this will not be a failure for him.

But dont tell me that he has not the tools to score 25ppg right now

His statline is more telling about the sorry state of the Suns defense right now.

Wembanyama is insane though.

the first few games of the season some of his teammates were trying to get theirs instead of passing the ball to the best player on the team, We see what happens when he's the focal point of the offense, hopefully his teammates do & the coaches will correct their selfishness.

Is it, though? They had an elite DRTG vs. the Warriors. An elite DRTG vs. the Lakers. And a strong DRTG vs. the Jazz. And then the two games against the Spurs happened. Those have dragged them down – but still only down to around league average. Therefore, the idea that it's just the Suns' defense that's so poor allowing doesn't seem all that convincing to me.

The most impressive thing about this 2nd match was that it was the 2nd match between these 2 teams, which meant that both sides had been able to take notes on what was working and what wasn't, and adapt.

And the frightening thing is that Wemby is adapting to the NBA faster than the NBA is adapting to Wemby! :D

The Suns are playing with Eubanks and Durant as their only bigs in crunchtime. They are in trouble against stronger frontcourts. Wembanyama scored most of his points over Eric freaking Gordon.
But i do not want to derail the thread further. Wembanyama is awesome and great for the game.

You are not much wrong for the % but he is at 19.3 PPG,10.7 REB and 3 block per game and he has been better in the last few games

Come back to me with your excuses when I'm closer than anyone else at the end of the season.

Too early to pick you up on that? :D

Anybody here thinking that he's going to average 2+ assists is kidding themselves and hasn't watched him play.

I think it's more likely that he simply alters a billion shots rather than stack massive block numbers. It's incredibly difficult to rack up high block numbers in the fast-paced, perimeter oriented game of today without fouling; I don't think Pop lets him play like that. Maybe he hits 2.5 blocks.

3.1 assists right now...and he is improving his passing game weeks after weeks.

Even this very optimistic prediction will be worse than his actual statline. It's crazy how good this kid as been since mid december/moving to Center

Save your apologies till the end of the season if you prefer.

I need you to sign that apology form asap

Where are the 5 or 6 nba record blocks per game you all pencilled him in for?

And I want to see the kid succeed but he will hit a will almost literally when he actually plays some decent defenders.

Nurkic and Eubanks?

Wemby against AD, Giannis, Embiid, Jokic, Holmgren, Nurkic and Gobert in 29 minutes per game. Some of them from early on in the season, where he was still finding his groove

22.5 pt
11.3 rb
3.2 blk
3 ast
2 stl

Per 36:

28/14/4/3.6/2.2

I've never seen somebody take this many L's in a thread before

Since this thread got bumped, I checked my prediction, which is holding up pretty well:

Wemby through 41 games played: 20.6ppg 10.1rpg 3.1apg 3.1 bpg 46.5 fg% 29.9 3pt% 80.4 ft%.

I expect his shooting numbers to improve by the end of the season, although they are unlikely to get up as high as I predicted -- probably ~48 fg% and ~32 3pt%. His ppg are likely to get to something more like ~22ppg.

Yup, looks like I was wrong. It happens.

How many turnovers is he at?

He's grown a lot this season, but by the end he's been averaging about
23 points
4 Assists
11 Rebounds
3 Blocks
1 Steal
3 Turnovers

Not bad!
