Just say you loooove you some Lebron and hate Michael Jordan. We could have saved time if you did this 15 minutes ago.

So Lebron would help those Wizards but AD wouldn't. AD sucks right?

Never said AD sucked, but I expect a weak argument to condescendingly put words in my mouth.

Tell me more about myself; check my avatar, my influence when I played the game at a high level, and even my posts in this thread. MJ is the GOAT, but the delusion that he is infallible is annoying, especially outside of his 8-year prime. You don't even know what you're arguing anymore, but I'll stick to the thread's premise, which is what I've done for several posts now:

The 'no free pass standard' falls apart for one player, not the other. And the latter isn't named LeBron.

His consecutive years to the Finals from the East is looking more and more weak. The West has always been the harder road for over 2 decades.

People just forget that he joined his competition in the East, so it made his path so much easier. The Heatles was a essentially like a corporate merger (Lebron/Wade/Bosh) that decimated small businesses (other teams) en route to a monopoly(Finals runs). Lebrons' consecutive Finals run in the East is grossly overstated.

ChipotleWest wrote:Who was MJ's Anthony Davis in the 80's when he had those playoff failures? Heck he didn't even have an Austin Reeves before Scottie, and when he did have Scottie in the 80's and they lost to the Pistons Scottie averaged 8 points per game while Jordan was averaging 35

He only had another 20 pt scorer with him the first couple years in the league.
I'll let you research cause obviously your a Jordan apologist.
Truth hurt don't it?

ChipotleWest wrote:. Absolutely no comparison to Lebron losing to the Mavs with both Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Context is a b**** ain't it?

LeBron failed in 2011 Mavs, but that was in the Finals, you're hyping up MJ for losing in first round?
Aint context a B? LoL.

Every LeBron hater brings up 2011 Mavs, he failed, spectacularly. But you never give that Mavs team its props, they were special. I think they swept a certain someone on the way to the finals.

ChipotleWest wrote:Since it's just win or shut up no excuses why did Lebron miss the playoffs his first two seasons? Because you're giving Jordan no pass for being young and having bad teammates I won't give Lebron that pass either. Since context doesn't matter to you no pass for being 39 either.

Na, that's where you and I are different, I don't give LeBron excuses for losing, and can admit he has failed during his NBA career.
You on the other hand will always give MJ a pass, like all the delusional nostalgic MJ fans.

Thus why the reason I said my point to begin with, if MJ gets a pass for all his failures, so should everyone else.

ChipotleWest wrote:That's the point who cares, Jordan and Lebron had bad teams and were young. Jordan had multiple teammates leave the team who were on cocaine. Just because you're a great player does not mean you're just going to carry a team to a championship especially when you're young, in fact that's never happened in the history of the NBA. The only great players under 25 to win a ring were drafted by a team that already had a top 50 player of all time. So this idea that Jordan should have won when he was young is absurd because literally no one has done it without help.

Except LeBron, carried a team to the finals, when he was young.
MJ couldn't and its the truth.
LeBron is greater floor raiser. MJ could never win anything unless everything is stacked for him. Prove it otherwise.

Again back to the main point, if MJ get's a pass, for every single failure, so does everyone else.
That's all your doing here is proving my point.

ChipotleWest wrote:In his last two seasons with the WIzards he still averaged 20+ ppg. He wasn't terrible at all but wasn't prime MJ, Lebron is better at 39 than MJ I'll give him that, but it's not by a massive margin. As far as winning games though who was MJ's Anthony Davis on those Wizards teams?

More passes for MJ. LOL
I'll say it again, if MJ gets a pass for every single failure, so does everyone else.

In a way I’ll be happy when LeBron retires so I can check out from nba fandom and forget this kind of utter ignorance exists.

Let's apply the thread title to some other ATG at 39

1998 Magic: No free pass
1995 Bird: No free pass
2002 MJ: No free pass
2002 Hakeem: No free pass
2012 Shaq: No free pass
2015 TD: No free pass
2018 Kobe: No free pass

Sounds insane

How was Bosh and Toronto in Clevelands way when they never faced each other in the postseason? Bosh led the Raptors to exactly 3 postseason wins in 7yrs.

Wade never faced Cleveland either before 2011.

Got it. I stand corrected. My bad. He would've helped, but the result would've still been similar due to the gap in skill between 39 MJ-year-old and 39-year-old LeBron and the rest of the East at that time. The premise of the OP is still ludicrous, especially when considering the same standard that OP applies to LeBron.

The same goes with everyone else during the rookie/sunset of their careers.

Of course  You can’t have it both ways. You can’t stroke Lebron when he has a nice game or breaks some cumulative stats record and then let him off of the hook when he stinks it up in the playoffs by reminding people he’s 39. Typical response from a Lebron homer.

FACTS!!!! Keep the pressure on their necks. If LeBum gets swept, this will be another HUGE blow to his questionable legacy. Biggest underachiever when you consider how talented he is. The comparisons to Jordan will become even more laughable.

How many times has MJ been swept? And aside from those 8 years of his prime, what did he accomplish? How many times did he run from the challenge?

Let's not get selective in our criticism.

The prime criteria for GOAT should be ring total and finals wining percentages.

I'll give you the Lebron is the best oldest stat padder in the league....wowee! What an accomplishment.

But I think its hilarious, that a player who lost in 6 finals and only winning 4, should even be compared to someone who won all 6 finals he was in.
