Good game, Wolves fans. Feels like you had half a dozen open shots that would've been the difference had they fallen. Sometimes (for us) it's better to be lucky than good.

I don't understand these rumours in the press over recent months stating they (or more specifically Ime Udoka) want to trade up for an established big name All Star type like Jimmy Butler.

Celtics tried to short cut our championship contending roster by trading for Kyrie Irving (which ended badly for us)

Butler is washed and likely a toxic locker room/chemistry presence at this point.

He’s been moving away from JG in crunch time for a few games now. Which is a frustrating development because earlier in the year he was clutch even in cold games. But he’s just not right atm, he made real changes in the offseason and was showing that early on, hot or cold, but lately when he struggles he reverts to his old form. Defence stays though, gotta give him that.

He was carrying them in the fourth early in the season, true. But on this team, even if he defends to his peak ability, he's kind of a relative liability compared to who could be out there in his place, so he needs to be a plus on offense.

It's been an extremely Jekyll and Hyde season for him so far. Hope he regains the form he's shown in stretches.

Yeah, this team is pretty nice. There aren't many players I'd want to break up the core for. Giannis, sure. Butler, nope.

1 - it will be tough to pay everyone, so invariably one or two of these guys will be off the team.
2- They have alot of picks to trade.
3 - I'm sure they want a clear Alpha scorer / closer, but that won't be Jimmy Butler. They could have pursued him in free agency if they wanted him.

I think they are aiming for a legit top 20 guy, who isn't old as ****. They apparently liked Mitchell, but that died when he extended.

At this point, they are probably hoping for a true offensive small like Trae, or Booker to become available. Hell maybe something shakes loose with Fox. Sometimes you just have to wait it out.
