If the Bucks finish with like 45 wins then yeah Wemby could jump Giannis

how many wins do the spurs have in this fantasy?
they went head to head last week and Giannis destroyed him. like things can change and he gets it together with a monster second half of the year but there are like 6 guys in that category after Giannis, SGA and jokic.

Thunder are better than Denver because SGA is a better more valuable player? OKC fans need to be humbled

It’s Jokic fans who need to be humbled. Saying stuff like he’s already top 10 all time, better than peak LeBron etc.

You'll never convince me that SGA is having as good of an individual statistical season as Jokic, but it's close enough that he's the MVP. I can accept that.

Now, I'm hoping that Jokic and Denver knocks OKC out of the playoffs. That would be much sweeter. These SGA/OKC fans on here need to have their egos taken down a notch, they're becoming a bit insufferable.

SGA fans aren't the one saying he's better than the likes of MJ, LBJ and Kareem

SGA has been leading RAPM for two seasons in a row. What other metrics would you use? I know every metric has their flaws. Thinking basketball has its own, but I don't know it since you have to pay for it.

I'm confused by your statements.

First, what source are you using for RAPM? Link?

Second, if Garland is #1, how can SGA be leading?

https://nbagameflow.com/rapm_1

Currently, Garland is the #1 in off rapm. Curry is #2. And Jokic is #3. SGA is the #7 in rapm.

However SGA is #1 in def rapm.

So, it adds up for SGA to be #1. You have to judge in a long period of time. So in multiple seasons.

However, ppl say it's crap for judging a single season.

Okay. Thank you for the clarification.

One thing to be clear on: There's not one single RAPM stat because the statmaker has to make decisions along the way that have no standardized answer. This makes usage and communication involving the stat tricky.

ftr, I don't think 1-year RAPM is crap, but the earlier in the season you are, the more problematic it is. It generally gets better with sample.

The last MVP thread ended with someone saying SGA was playing as good as prime Jordan.

Your takes on Jokic supporters are hyperbolic. No one is saying he’s better than those guys. Saying he is a potential GOAT isn’t saying he’s better than them. Only that the groundwork is set and he has a CHANCE. You’re just making stuff up here.

Yeah, I don't really waste time responding to posters who say things like that.

No one is ranking him higher than those guys right now. But Jokic career trajectory definitely puts him in the top five discussion when it's all said and done.

you know you're arguing for SGA MVP there, right? the reason nobody is afraid of OKC in the playoffs, really, is that it's a one man team. shut SGA down and they have nothing

I got denver vs okc in the playoffs easily, because they can step it up on defense while jokic figures out offense to break OKC down.

but there goes the whole OKC has the better team narrative. because it doesn't. they are just playing better in the regular season. and guess what? MVP is a regular season award.

I said he’s starting to get in that tier of guard right now. Going to another level. And it’s true. When you factor his defense if he sustains this the second half of the season it trumps 2016 Curry and 2018 or 2019 Harden. It’s the best guard season since MJ.

Statistically no other guard has had his all around metrics, efficiency since Jordan. Especially on the scoring volume. He’s the first player since Jordan to put up 30/5/5 with his steals and efficiency. I’m not saying he’s quite Jordan level. Just that his season is moving to that tier.

It's not only that he doing it while being a good defender and putting up great block and steal numbers for a guard like MJ did

Yep. It’s an all timer. That’s why when people were trying to say Jokic was in a league of his own weeks ago I didn’t get it. Since the cup game SGA has especially gone stupid as a two way player.

Joker ran into a buzz saw lately. Now new Vegas odds has SGA at 77% odds to win MVP. Hoping SGA sustains in the second half with no injury.

Shai dominates whole league, the same like Curry did in 2016.

Really I am not neither fan of them but Jokic fans are way out there how many threads out there about jokic as top 10 or even goat. lol
Jokic is a great offensive player but he is the worst defender of any center that’s in top 10 by a country mile! SGA play both sides of the ball at a very high level and his team is crushing the west he is the mvp right now period and they don’t even have Chet yet.

Huge fan of both players, but SGA deserves it this year so far. I hope we don’t make this like another Embiid vs Jokic debate; because in this case both players are likeable and are worthy.

Neither are most Nuggets fans saying that about Jokic. There might be a couple of internet knuckleheads saying it, but most aren't.
