Yeah SGA is probably #1 heading into next season. Jokic is already on the wrong side of 30

No one objectively thinks anyone is better at basketball than jokic.,, he had a easy 44 and 15 in this series
He does things impossible on a regular
You'd be saying Jokic is the best even if prime Lebron, MJ and Shaq were playing in the league along side him.
No. Prime MJ and Prime LeBron were better - Shaq was impossibly good - jokic is in that prime Shaq level at this point

SGA needs to win 1, but even then, I doubt he'll get as many MVP's as Jokic. He is the better defender, though people don't like to talk about defense.

He took just 9 shots in a do-or-die game and finished -23.
But anyway, let’s not focus on the negatives, because we're often too guilty of that.
Let’s talk about the real story, the coronation of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the best player in the world.
I’ve never had him in my top 2 even, but this series has ended the debate. Shai has taken the mantle. Jokic had his window. SGA just kicked it shut. Congrats to SGA and Thunder fans.
If Jokic hand SGA switched rosters, Jokic might not lose a game in the playoffs.
If SGA and Jokic switched teams then you'd be calling OKC's roster trash and Denver's roster stacked.
Why would we do that? OKC's roster is objectively good. These statements are made based on looking at the statistical impact of the players on each roster. They aren't pulled out of thin air.

i think its still pretty clearly jokic. SGA derserves MVP and he might have impact advanced metrics, that can compete. But my eye test says its pretty easily jokic.
sga is catching up, but he needs a couple more of those years and a ring to at least be on the same level.

Re: SGA Just Took the Crown — Jokic Let Him Have It
I truly dislike this thread because it belittles every superstar level player in the NBA and not to mention historically dominant legend like Jokic.
Only difference for SGA is that he has better roleplayers now with Caruso, Hartenstein and the others are not as naive young as when Luka and his roleplayers+ Kyrie made Thunders look bad enough to lose a series.
I stopped watching game 7 because Caruso, Wallace and Jdub was destroying the others in Denver. Murray himself killed off his overrated "playoffs Murray" rep. Gordon has been brilliant but couldn't move and even healthy MPJ is too uneven to even play for this OKC team and Braun would be like their 8th man while he is 4th for Denver this playoffs. That is the reason it was not an even fight.
Jokic is so much better than players 2-5 in the NBA even next season. He is in his peak prime.

OKC's roster got tripped up by a zone defense, played the entire series. They're inept outside of SGA.

They missed a bunch of wide open threes and are absurdly young.

Yes, ergo, the supporting cast isn't any better than the nuggets.

You can't just swap players. The Nuggets aren't built for SGA. They would have no viable center without Jokic.

They say multiple defenders in Jokic's lap at all times... Conversely if a defender gets too close to Shai it's an automatic foul.

Re: SGA Just Took the Crown — Jokic Let Him Have It
OP, you're going to make everyone hate you on this forum if you continue making ridiculous threads. The majority of people thought OKC would beat Denver, add to this MPJ performing very poorly, and Gordon being hurt game 7, it's no surprise the lost. Give Jokic and Denver credit for taking a 68 win team to 7 games. If SGA had a supporting cast of the level of Jokic, and he was facing a 68+ win team, he'd also fall short.

Re: SGA Just Took the Crown — Jokic Let Him Have It
Jokic is still the best player in the world. Nothing changed. BTW SGA is great
