Fair. But nevertheless, I was really struck by how bad he was. I'm not expecting him to go all out on defense or anything, but he should be doing the basics like boxing out the free throw shooter and not getting lost on switches.

The only interesting part about your post is, how you don't understand anything here. Luka joined Slovenian team only few days before the game, he was still in LA in the start of August, he never played with half of his teammates before. Him playing D was the last thing this game was about. The only true reason why he played were his Slovenian fans.

It absolutely embarrassing to see your hatred towards Luka.

Lol, settle down there, not sure if it's that serious

Dude, relax.

I like Luka. But I can also point out when he is dogging it on defense.

I just used your words. absolutely embarrassing. You should understand context, if you want to use that strong words. You absolutely don't.

Dogging on defense in his 1st game after a long break, friendly match without a meaning and coming to the game almost directly from the airport after being on Jordan promotion tour and signing new contract in LA? What should he done, going full out and injured himself in his first friendly match?

Btw. he didn't play second game for Slovenia, which should tell you that Slovenian fans where the main reason he was playing first game at all. Or maybe he was left at home by a coach after his embarrassing performance in game 1? It could be.

Using words absolutely embarrassing for a D in a first friendly match is Ok? But when I question his opinion with the same words, moderator cavalry should come to rescue? With using absolutely embarrassing he was looking for a conflict otherwise he could simply say Luka didn't play D in his first friendly match and nobody would react.

Your response read as if the poster insulted your child or made a personal attack at you, hence why I said I'm not sure if it is that serious.

That might not have been your intention, and this is text, but that's how it came off, and it isn't about your questioning the poster, it was mainly about the "your hatred towards Luka" part.

If I understand you right, it's normal to label performance in a friendly, meaningless match after not playing for 4 months and playing with players you don't know, absolutely embarrassing, on the other hand I can't question what real intentions of the poster are? I honestly doubt someone sincerely believes that Luka's D in match like that has any kind of relevance. That leaves us with hatred or deliberate provocation. So maybe before defending him, you should asked yourself, what his intentions are?

Absolutely embarrassing is pretty strong statement, if we're talking about Nba playoffs, if we're talking about friendly match in offseason it's just laughable and clearly with an agenda behind it. But hey, I will take your word and believe he's just clueless how and why those friendly matches are played. ;)

Luka just took and knee to knee and went down in the SLO v LAT friendly. Had to take a minute and then got taken out. Limping pretty bad but made his own way to the bench. Happened middle of 3rd Q with LAT up 16. I think he had played every minute until then. 24/4/5. Not sure why coach rode him that long he was clearly out of gas before this and it's a Eurobasket warm up game.

He's definitely lost some weight but those Mens Health photos were probably taken after him working out for weeks and after a cut. I doubt he's training much during this Eurobasket run. Does look a bit flabby like Jok but Jok has elite stamina can't really say same for Luka.

Yep people don't understand that you need elite consistency to stay in elite shape. The LBJs, Currys, Kobes etc. don't stop working out...ever. They'll adjust intensity and volume, but the workouts never stop.

Luka had 26 at halftime and was playing lockdown D. Lakers better hope that injury isn’t serious.

The concern is he's gonna become discouraged and gain weight now that he's hurt. Its happened exactly that way before.

He has to prove this lifestyle change is for real right here right now.

Sucks about the injury. Hopefully its not serious or lingering.

Facts. He suffers a minor injury and then binges ćevapi, burgers, beer, pizza etc. compulsively for months and he's fat enough.

Anyway, on average every 5 years or so there's a major talent that can't control eating urges or doesn't understand that he can feast from age 40 to 65 all he wants. There's no need to do that in your athletic prime.

How much does he eat ffs. His like 6'7+ you'd think someone that size playing 3-4 games a week for 9 months would have a maintanance level of 3500 calories a day, probably a lot more. Add in all the travel and training sessions during the year. Is he a regular drinker as that would explain a spike in caloric intake and tbf him looking visibly gassed compared to other players his age playing same minutes.

Yes Luka wasn't in great shape in the last few seasons but saying he was gassed playing big minutes is a bit wrong and not completely on him... could je have had more stamina? Definitely. But....
For his career he averages 35 minutes per game including all the blow outs. More than most other starters in the same era. In important matches he often played 40+ minutes per game. So his fitness issues are as much on the coaching staff than on him.

Luka’s hope is that all this work will help him stay dominant for the next decade to come, critics of his conditioning and weight be damned. “Obviously, be the best that I can be, take care of myself,” he says. “This year, with my team, I think we did a huge step. But this is just the start, you know. I need to keep going. Can’t stop.”

Nooooooooo Freakin WAY. Is this photoshopped? HOLY. He looks like a different person. He lost his babyfat! LMAO.
