He's the new Steve Francis! An explosive point guard who can't really shoot but his finishing and excitement sustains him as a "star" for a few years. He never wins anything, starts declining when he's 26/27, out of the league at 31.

No joke.

Since Utah is going to continue to build, let's ship him there to rehab his reputation.

Utah receives Morant
Memphis receives Niang (expiring), Anderson, Nurkic (expiring), Collier
Add some picks where necessary to balance it out.

Morant can play with Markkanen as the primary, Memphis not taking on any long-term money.

There is almost certainly a few GM's out there who think they could rehab him. And maybe they are right. He's blazing fast and is an instant paint touch still. I'm glad my pistons won't be in the bidding, but he's got enough talent that some teams will.

Josh Giddey.

We'll take Aldama too. Y'all go right ahead and build off Giddey, JJJ and Edey. That's a winner right there.

I think as a Bulls fan you'd live to regret that decision.

So I'm supposed to believe Josh Giddey is that much better than Ja that he provides more value to a team than Ja + Aldama? Should it be Ja + Aldama + Edey? If you can make the salaries line up that's a fair trade for Josh Giddey right now?

Giddey as of right now and over the previous 30 games of last season has been playing like a top 20 player. Then on top of that he's only 23 and has led the Bulls to a 5-1 record. Ja otoh, is playing terrible so far and only played in 59 games the last two seasons combined. On top of all the other stuff which is the main reason why Memphis might be trying to unload him. Aldama doesn't really move the needle much. He's just a guy. My point is the Bulls as of right now might be a top 4-5 seed in the east. With Ja+Aldama I think they're more like .500. Chi should keep Giddey.

I thought of Marbury but Francis is a much better comp, in many ways

He's totally Francis 2.0

I mean, people keep saying Morant doesn’t win, but historically, I mean, he does. Most years he plays, Memphis wins about 50 games. In a loaded West no less. Like, I get he’s a flawed player, but he does contribute to winning in some way, does he not? His stocks low, but let’s not complete discount the fact he helped turn Memphis around in a way to a regular playoff team.

I'm just giving my opinion. Which is that Ja is a 26 year old who if anything is trending downward. Giddey is a 23 yr old who may already be top 20 and is trending upward. It's not a very hard choice to me. On top of Ja doing stuff like telling off his coach. Not like I care either way if the Bulls want to make themselves worse(I'd prefer it).

This is called the first stage of Grief.

I'm sure Shams was just making it all up.

Shams was making it up and even then he didn't say he asked to be traded, so this is probably just you projecting your own team's desperation for a lead guard.

Hawks will take Ja but how many of these Orlando picks will Zach Kleiman give up?

2025 first-round pick, a 2026 first-round pick, two more first-round picks (2028 and 2030), and a 2029 first-round pick swap.

Zach Kleiman might not be the GM teams want to deal with. He wants to get back to winning 50 games a season for Memphis. First round picks seem to be an addiction. He's good for Memphis but we'll see what he acquires for Ja.

it seems like insiders with raps organization are not high on picking up Ja Morant

prolly rather keep IQ then trade for Ja honestly.....
