Hard to believe one of Kawhi, Durant or Lebron isn't first team All-NBA at the end of the year. But I still think Kawhi deserves to make it. Giannis isn't in the discussion yet, but if the Bucks win 50 games, I reserve the right to change my opinion.

I don't understand what your point is.

James is my top 3 MVP candidate, right after Harden and Westbrook. However number 1 in the conference doesn't mean a whole lot, at least in the East it doesnt mean as much as in the West. Cavs rank 4th in SRS, behind GSW, TOR, HOU.

LeBron himself, ranks 13th in WS (behind Golbert, Giannis, IT etc), 6th in VORP and 5th in BPM (all behind Russ, Harden, Giannis, CP3), outside of 20th in DPBM, list goes on. Yet the claim is 'he controls a game better than anyone I've ever seen - which I certainly don't disagree. See? Stats aren't everything, but eye test by itself I think is even worse.

MVP is Harden and it's not even close imo.

It's not even close when the other guy is averaging a triple double season?

Damn, Harden with 53, 17 and 16. That has to be the performance of the year.

Yes, it's my opinion. You don't have to agree with it. Harden has clearly better efficiency and I do value that a lot in superstars. Also Harden has a higher BB IQ. He doesn't rush plays. He does a much better job at controlling the pace than Russ and that's pretty important skill required from great PGs. They have to know when to slow down and when to be aggressive and Harden does a great job when it comes to that. Not to mention Harden is making his team overachieve more than any team in the NBA atm. I don't rate triple doubles highly to begin with but Russ's triple doubles would be much more impressive with a better efficiency. Harden has been far more impressive for me so far and it's reflected on his team's impressive record.

with all due respect to westbrook, since harden is only 2 rebounds away from triple double average, harden edges over westbrook considerably.

Westbrook is probably myy fav. non - Celtic player. But the way Harden's playing and their team standing, Harden is the MVP.

The triple double is the most overrated stat in all of sports.

What matters is who's team is winning. Rockets are in 3rd and thunder are in 7th place.

When was the last time a player on a seventh seeded won the MVP. You have to be at least top 4.

Yup, even Kobe didnt get MVP the year he dropped 35 a game on avg. WB is filling up the stat sheet in PTS/REB/AST but with similar team results it'd be a change from the unwritten rules of qualifying for this award.

I hope this Harden vs Westbrook thing doesn't turn into another 14-15 Curry vs Harden.

"Harden is the MVP because he has nobody around him and he made everyone better. He is the best player on a better team."

"Are you kidding? Westbrook is the MVP. Look at who are surrounding Harden. All great shooters. We have nobody in OKC. Westbrook has to do a lot more."

Great race so far with some superstar players. My current favorites are:

1. Curry
2. Durant
3. Harden
4. LeBron
5. Kawhi
6. Westbrook

Yeah its Harden so far. I'd put Russ 2 and Lebron 3 personally. After that whoever.

Agreed

The win / loss column differential will decide who gets it at the end of the year.

Same. You seem to hold a weird grudge for a team you never liked.
