Re: ESPN's 'The Last Dance' -- ongoing discussion
MJ getting called out for lying about the Olympic team.
I think most people already figured MJ was the reason Zeke wasn't even approached about joining the squad.
Seems like MJ might actually regret what he did. Why else continue to lie about it?

In the last 5 minutes he says he was still at his peak because although he is older, he has mental strength now. He’s as dominant as he was in 91.
He also says he can’t accept the ownership not wanting to pursue a 7th title.
My question, why is one of the alleged most competitive people of all time retiring at his peak, just because he didn’t get to play with Scott, Dennis and Phil?
Surely if he was truly at his peak like he claims, why would he not sign elsewhere? He can’t accept management not wanting to chase a title, but it’s fine for him to quit because he’s not playing with the players and coach he wants? I don’t get it.
Maybe you've failed to notice:
Michael Jordan has a Circle of Trust. He's INCREDIBLY loyal, which is why the security guards who looked out for him were like family. The guy who picked him up from the Chicago airport as a rookie is his best friend. Charles Oakley was his first friend teammate and they're still besties. Same with Rod Higgins. Same with Tim Grover. If you are outside of the Circle of Trust, you are dead to him, but Phil Jackson is solidly inside the circle. Even Doug Collins coached him in Washington.

People want to be friends with the most popular athlete of the decade? Crazy!
I don’t get what point you’re trying to make here. Is it that Jordan only plays with friends?

No, he means that he was not going put himself into a new environment at that late stage of his career. He even said in the earlier episodes that Jerry Krause asking him to play for a coach other than Phil Jackson would be unfair and he'd be done if Phil isn't back.

It's crazy how Mr Gambling felt the need to reivindicate his position and paid this tv show to make him look a semigod again like Nike and Stern did it.
He lied too much but makes sense when you got people like LeBron or Giannis playing at such ridiculous level in an so much better era in terms of talent and athleticism

idk why people acting like anyone even believed mike in the first place that he didn't wanna play with isiah, it was clearly implied either way whether he named dropped him or not lmao
and from this new audio clip, he still seems to re-telling the story to someone, it wasn't the direct conversation, so when he said "who's playing" in the doc, it basically meant he was asking about isah, thus why the response he got according to him was "the guy youre thinking of isnt gonna be there" - that literally means everyone knew mjs stance, its not a secret
i mean isiahs own coach didnt even want him lol he didnt even try to lobby for his guy, literally no one wanted to play with isiah, and they clearly didnt need him either

Bulls were cooked after 98, Spurs and def the Lakers would've made them look old in the Finals
Bucks tricked me into being a diehard in 2001, LeBron is the 2nd best player ever, and pizza is awesome.
