Seriously though, this is every other day now with the...how do I put it nicely? Extremelly bias lacking factual and logical substance one sided threads. I couldn't imagine a Clips fan starting a thread yesterday titled "Thornwell dominates Ball", which is a similar situation except in this case Tatum played well. As for Kuzma, yeah he played well and carve out a nice role off the bench going forward similar to Nance, but let's not forget he's a 22 year old rookie with three seasons of college ball under his belt. This is def not thread worthy, all of this could have been mentioned in the summer league thread but I have a feeling there was a different intent than just to talk up Kuzma with this thread.

Having watched him with the Utes, I 100% believed Kuzma was going to be a top 20 pick. He might be a better fit with Ball/Ingram than Randle, IF they can get a better rebounder at PF in the future. Playmaking with Randle and Lopez up front will be great though. But good value there. Also, pump the brakes.

Wasn't he considered a second round pick until he excelled during the combine? It seemed like the five on five really helped his value.

No, he didnt. If he said Tatum was a bum, had a bad game, etc, you would be right.

Yes, he did. Something tells me if a Celtics fan made a thread about Tatum's great game and mentioned Ball 4 times just to talk about how much Tatum outplayed him, you wouldn't be taking this position.

Kuzma, a late 1st round pick outplayed Tatum. Tatum cant shoot the 3 as well as Kuzma (so far) and Kumza also did great on defense.

You do know Kuzma was a horrible three point shooter in college right? So no, Kuzma hasn't shown he can shoot the three better, taking more of them in one game doesn't prove anything. I don't even understand how anyone can say Kuzma outplayed Tatum in the first place either, because he scored four more points? He still was a -2 on the court and what exactly did Kuzma do that makes you think he played great defense? So did Semi outplay Ball because he made more threes and played much better defense? He def was the more efficiefficient shooter and did a great job on the much bigger Zubac on defense.

Edit: Just double checked and EP had a couple near misses but didn't get a triple double.

Might want to cool it with the anti-Tatum stuff. It's not going to work out well for you in the long run.

I think Tatum will soon realize that iso ball won't work for him in the big leagues. He's going to have to expand his range to get anywhere on the court in this league.

I'm not anti Tatum, I've compared Tatum to Kobe...hello. I just saw Kuzma shine over Tatum and he's a 27th pick.

Well 2 of those were bail out last second shots, and one was a half court buzzer shot. You don't count those he's shooting 50%. This is why stats are ruining the game. People don't want to try that half court shot at the end of the quarter or it will hurt their precious stats... it's sad how the league has become. Wish the stat people stayed with baseball.

Truth of the matter is...Rubio doesn't have Ball's athleticism. Never seen Rubes go up and tomahawk like Ball did today. Never seen Rubes with the hang time that Ball demonstrated in the paint either. And Ball is still maturing. He still has a kid's body. Wait until he trains like a pro and becomes a man, gains strength. He could be a beast.

And Ball's shot is still up in the air. He could end up being just as efficient as he was in college as he gets more time under his belt.

I'd say Ball's passes are more crisp than Rubios. I think Ball will impact the game from long distance once he is acclimated to the league so he'll be multi-dimensional unlike Rubes.

It does seem like all non-laker fans are scared of Ball. I remember when we got Kobe and many opposing teams fans got scared, were in denial of how great Kobe was, tried to play him down, said he was no good, etc. Then Kobe got 5 rings. Ball might just have the same effect, and I think Ball has the rest of the league and their fans a bit scared right now. So as a Laker fan I do understand the defensive mechanisms on this board. When Lakers get someone great it gives the league pause....that oh sh...moment...like oh no...not another Laker dynasty

People forget that this is Ingram with Ball on the court, finding him for alley oops, and getting easy twos in transition. 5-6 points a quarter seems feasible to me any way for Ingram.

Travis Diener scored 34 points in Summer League. He should have been a legend.

I think so. In some picks he even slipped out of the 2nd. Watching him, you'd see he was a very capable scorer with a wide range of tools and good size. Perfect player for current NBA, but in college he struggled to leave a mark and put in steady production.

Same guy who said he would trade Russell for anyone but Durant.

Right, half of these I didn't say, and who hasn't made an Ingram/Durant comparison? Not a fan of Westbrook but never said he'd be a journeyman at 30. Only way I make that statement is maybe because of his explosive style similar to a healthy Derrick Rose. Body can't maintain that level of explosiveness for many years...injury is bound to happen.

Zubac a top 3? Doubt I said that. If I did, I don't know what I was smoking. But if you can find that thread with that quote LMK. Ingram to MJ? That is another one I don't remember ever saying.

Do remember the Russell trade. It did not make sense to trade Russell for a tier 2 border line all star like Derozoan. So ya, if we traded DLo our best player at the time, I would want a great player for him. I'm on record of saying I would throw Russell for a PG trade as well. Pretty sure I threw Russell and Zubac in a PG trade on the trade forums too. So I've never been too high on Zu, and I think he has a long way to go still.

His defence is concerning. On a couple of occasions the opposition player was already two steps behind him driving to the basket before he even reacted. That is horrible.
