Folks need to chill out. Lebron obviously made some ground this weekend and made the gap closer, but Giannis is still quite ahead, and the vegas odds everywhere show that.

Vegas took out all their MVP odds the past 2 days because Giannis got hurt, and they were not sure what was happening. Odds are now back.

Odds to win mvp:
Giannis -400
Lebron +350

Lebron is the most popular basketball star on the planet... you really think if it was 50/50 toss up, vegas would leave themselves exposed with these odds. They even mentioned they've been taking bets on lebron recently.

I'd pay more attention to the vegas lines, than the talking espn heads.

Even basketball reference mvp tracker has Giannis with the overwhelming % chance to win

[The Jump] ESPN'S Rachel Nichols on Lebron's MVP case: "We have leaned on stats more and more every year... I do think value comes into play with leadership... the fact that he went out and recruited Anthony Davis, that he has made Anthony Davis so comfortable and into the monster he is."

Btw winning back to back is hard. So the fact the Giannis has won last year hurts his claim a bit especially since James has not won one in 7 years. Most times when someone wins back to back there was no player with a great season or narrative to challenge their repeat. You have to do more to win it again and he has done that but the narrative is on James side. Like it was with Rose and Westbrook.

Sabotaging the Lakers' locker room last season by throwing all his young teammates under the bus via trade rumors is a sign of "leadership" now? Jesus Rachel.

Lebron is just as genius off the court as on. One of the very few athlete superstars without a scandal. Donates a ton to charity. Best athlete in world when it comes to giving back to the community.

You are evil if you dislike him. Plain and simple.

Leave it to Lebron fans to use narratives that have never been used before in MVP discussion like making dude's "comfortable". AD is a Top 5 player, no **** **** your going to do your best to make him comfortable.

This broad just wants to come up with any excuse to give Lebron the MVP.

Wow the Lakers won two home games and now they are 1-1 vs the Bucks and 1-2 vs the clippers so he’s the mvp now

Come on now the situation hasn't changed a bit.
He can't make up any ground because he won 2 freaking games, that's just stupid.

Barrring a huge surprise, Giannis will be MVP again.

I did not except that this board and knowledgeable posters will fall pray to shameless ESPN campaign which over weekend went into full swing to “crown the king”. Just despicable.

Milwaukee getting rolled again. What will the record differential be - like 1 loss?

Ruh roh. Giannis also has to be careful not to miss more than 10 games, he has already missed 7. Can he really win MVP playing 60ish games? Don’t see it happening

If he missed another 10 games that would still be 65 and his record would be like .800+ in games played.

Who is the last MVP that won playing fewer than 70 games? Has it even happened in recent memory?

Lebron really gonna steal this. If the Bucks are extra careful with Giannis's knee, Lakers got a real shot at having the best record. Thats gonna be all a lot of these voters need to push Lebron to the top of their ballot.
