One thing I would say is that Orlando always seemed cursed by young guys that didn't fit together. Whether it was non-shooting backcourt (Payton and Dipo), or power forward types needing to play the 3 (Gordon, Isaac, Harris), or bringing in Ibaka and Biyombo the same year. The Magic would often end up needing to overplay their shooters to make lineups work. Vooch, Fournier and then role players like T-Soss or Gary Harris. Everything always felt like an awkward balancing act that was less than ideal for their most important young players.

Im thinking those days could be over now if the large men can shoot (Franz and Paolo), but the curse of the non-shooting backcourt is still there with Suggs and Fultz! Once again you'll probably be relying on Garry Harris balancing some lineups. The Magic rotation will be fascinating to watch.

Oh yeah, there's definitely a legit discussion as to how pieces work together, too many young guys needing reps at the same time (which, sure, I will take as development issues), but I'd rather them figure out their warts than trade someone too early like we did with Oladipo (and Sabonis!) + Harris when we saw them producing. The roster is definitely far from complete.

Things will eventually figure themselves out if Banchero is for real. If he can get to a star level in the league, whatever team he is joining now will be vastly different in 3-4 years anyway. It's already more fun than the previous rebuild for me lol

I think Banchero, and to a similar extent, Wagner, are much easier pieces to build around. Regardless of which position those 2 play, they'd a lot of size and skill on the floor to put guys around. I think there's also a slightly clearer hierarchy of prospects this year that there have been in the past (though I think guys like Isaac and Fultz are kind of confusing as unknowns). If I'm Orlando, I'm making sure Banchero and Wagner are starting, and building the right lineup around that.

i can see okeke off bench and cole anthony who could start with there 3 pt shooting being better this yr by a few percent points each... magic have 10-12 guys need to play this yr

Banchero, Wagner, Wendell Carter, and possibly Suggs are locks to start for the next couple of years.

Wiseman playing and playing well. The GSW might be having these guys audition for trades but if not...GSW looks better today than they did winning the ring

While I agree he can overdribble at times, he had 6 assists and only 1 turnover. He also shot 9 of 15 from the field.

I find this interesting. So the plan is for him (inexperienced in officiating obviously) to officiate a pro basketball game and than go on espn and say how hard it is to be an official? Very coy NBA.

lol lol like what?? That's the posters own bias taking into affect. Mac M was clearly the best player on the court. He's nice, his athletic ability makes him play bigger than he is when he's attacking the rim. Some team is gonna sign him eventually

Paolo officially shut down for the rest of Summer League, per Marc Stein.

Selfishly wanted to see him match up against Chet later, but from a team perspective I have no issues with this.

Paolo ain’t a good matchup for Chet. We already saw those two go head to head and it went pretty well for Paolo

Eason looks like a really nice pickup for Houston and Washington looks solid as well.

Jabari is very raw offensively. His defense is nice though.

Spurs have a lot of decent young players on their Summer League. I assume they don't have roster spots for all of them.

How much is Veags gonna be pissed at us for shutting down Paolo? They must have been making a lot from PB vs Chet natchup all for us to put a rain on that parade.
