I agree that Miami took a lot of jumpshots, but so did Indiana. It didn't look to me like Indiana was attacking the basket any more than Miami. It just seemed like one team was allowed to play physical defense and the other got whistled every time they tried.

I'm not bias to either team. That was just my take watching this game.

That's also what it felt like to me. Miami was slashing a lot in the first half of the game and settled for jumpers more after the break. Meanwhile, didn't really feel like the Pacers went inside all that much. A lot of West his shots were turnaround hook shots and Hill had some drives. Meanwhile, I think basically all of Wade and Bron their points came at or near the rim, Chalmers cut inside for funky layups far too often.

It just felt off, Pacers got away with more than they should.

There was a big disparity because the Heat were so poor on defense. There were several plays where the Heat were caught out of position on defense and then were forced to foul at the last minute. Indiana on the other hand was far more disciplined on defense and didn't have as many breakdowns.

Lol, really? Lebron's efficiency has been so good in the playoffs BECAUSE he's been constantly attacking (aside from tonight). This game actually drops his efficiency slightly.

Lebron played a very good game (on offense). 25/10/5 on 60% shooting. Of course he could have 40 the next game, but playing a great two-way game would also be a good way to go. He was uncharacteristically bad on defense today.

In the new era of three pointers dominating NBA offenses, it's not that surprising anymore to see teams trade blowouts. This really wasn't a terrible game by the Heat, the Pacers were just a bit better and hit their open shots. Hibbert and West scored well, but they actually didn't dominate the offensive glass the entire game like they usually do v. the Heat. Part of that was the Pacers just not missing that much, but it was also due to the Heat boxing out and rebounding pretty well. Lance Stevenson hit lots of questionable jumpers.

Lebron didn't hit any outside shots, but still managed to score. I expect him to keep shooting, and for him to convert more in game 2. Chalmers and Bosh were pretty bad, they both got looks in their spots but couldn't hit a thing. Wade looked really good, the Heat will need more of that.

Calls going for Indy was to be expected, that's the biggest reason you fight for home court advantage. Game 2 is close to a must-win for the Heat, but I expect them to bounce back strong. The Pacers probably won't look that good on offense again for the rest of the series.

So he's not attacking because of Hibbert or because he's "taking care" of his efficiency? Make up your mind.

i remember this feeling of hope that the Heat would lose when they were down a game to the Thunder. I also remember the same feeling when they were down 2 games to 3 in a series with the Celtics.

Just get the series Pacers :x

Another thing about Miami's coach. Whenever small ball doesn't work, his counter is to only go smaller. It's a stupefying counter made by a man that is inexplicably seen as a good coach by many associated with the NBA.

When did Chris Bosh turn into a spot up 3 point shooter?

The Pacers were prepared for this series and looked like a championship team for the first time this game imo.

They executed better and had an balanced attack, I thought the Heat were scrambling more on defense and got called for more fouls because of it. You could say the Pacers had a home court advantage for calls, but the Heat have gotten that so many times in other series.

The Pacers have to remember last year and have to improve for game two.

also Hibbert took like 13 FTS

and they were almost all fouls, I don't know how you can dispute it. Maybe one possible haslem foul, that's it.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying the fouls on Hibbert were legit or not?

He hits 3's in the clutch so it gives him an excuse to keep shooting them. I wish he would mix it up but I've given up on that.

It just doesn't make sense but I won't be surprised if Spo fails to come to that realization. Also, if Miami's counter to small ball failing is going smaller, it won't hurt to put Beasley at the 4. He will at least pull West out of the paint and make him work defensively. It's not as if going smaller has ever worked so there's nothing to lose.

LOL at RuPaul being a corner pocket stretch 4 three point shooter. Ish is hilarious - although he is hitting a very high percentage.
