I know they can tip the ball off the rim in FIBA and obviously can't in NBA, so I'm sure the goaltending rules are different.Joshyjess wrote:earlier I think it was Booker who had a layup, but the guy blocked the shot after it obviously hit the backboard first. Is that not goaltending in FIBA rules? Or did the refs just miss a clear call?

Re: 2024 Olympic BASKETBALL Thread (Pt.3)
We don't need to play everybody but depth has always been one of our very biggest strengths. We don't have the same young athletes we've had in the past to continually turn teams over and turn those into easy buckets. And teams have gotten smart about avoiding those. But it still wears teams down to constantly match up with five fresh, high-level players at all times.

I don't know what's up with Curry though. I'm old as hell and the only thing I can do in a pickup game at this point is hit an open shot. He's been off anytime I watch Olympics.
dude, they are making him pay point with that 2nd group. what do you expect?

Embiid, Tatum, and Curry are the guys I'd DNP.
From a strategic standpoint: Yes.
But with so many stars and egos I don't think it is possibly to sit that many guys for that many minutes - just from a human nature, team chemistry standpoint.
What do you think would be a bigger blow to their $40 million dollar egos?
Option 1: Playing less than 5 minutes a game
Option 2: Losing a game in the Olympics

One of Puerto Rico's biggest advantages this game - Embiid.

The wear down effect is about the only thing I like about it.

Unfortuntely I think for some of these guys it is option 1, haha.

lol, im a sixers fan, but it is comical with Embiid largely playing badly and hyping up the crowd at any positive sign. It is so absurd you just have to laugh.

Well, Murray at least is not self-proclaimed GOAT if healthy.

Nah. PR is a colony buddy. Can't vote, pays ridiculous taxes without representation. Third class US "citizens".

Seems a bit of a weak foul call, but we’ll take it.
