I just couldn't resist... And I didn't even mention the great showing he had vs the Polish Hammer

Oh goody, this thread has warned into 'player A is awesome because player B suck' territory starring Ayton and Doncic.

Great news for people who like both players!

You must be new here - this has been going on since the beginning of the season and I don't anticipate it will stop.

This thread is basically overreaction central given these guys are rookies and they don't have a body of work to temper criticism or praise. So basically, if Trae has a bad game he's a bust and if Doncic has a good game he's a hall of famer.

Don´t forget that some posters only turn up after bad games. In Doncics and Aytons case they sometimes have to wait for nearly a month and are going all out once they have the opportunity.

Trae is technically 3rd in drives per game with a 3.6 ast and 1.6 to rate with a higher FG% than James Harden in the last 11 games.

current betting odds for ROY. basically Doncic has to get hurt for him not to win the award. incase u are not familiar with the betting odds. it means you have to put up $1200 to win 100 for luka. if you put $100 on Ayton you win $800.

those are actually pretty good odds for ayton, considering it's pretty much between him and luka. i'm not a betting man, but those are really odds to consider, especially with half the season still to go

With such odds, if I were even slightly a betting man and had access to those odds, I'd make a decent bet on Ayton becoming the RotY. Those are really skewed odds in favour of Dončić, and there's no objective fact that warrants such a big gap between their odds.

Well in the betting world anything can happen. Either Doncic or Ayton get injured either one of them or none of them. One could hit a rookie wall or maybe both, there are so many variables nothing is taken for granted.

So I just want to say that Sean Marks is a really good drafter. Levert, Allen, Kurucs all can friggin play. Musa has been injured, but he looks promising as well.

not sure if any1 saw that laker mav game. it was literally Luka 1 v 5 in the 2nd half. Matthews is so bad now, it's sad. Barnes has been hit or miss most of the season. he was a miss tonight

Outside of Doncic the starting five combined for a single FG in the second half (Barnes layup).

Lmao it really was 1v5. Mavs would have like 5 wins if it wasn't for Luka this season.

DSJ shoul'd be sent back to the NCAA for a few years for a reality check. And the mavs team needs to get rid of Dirk, Matthews, Powell, DJ, Barnes asap. But because that just isn't possible they will soon lose Luka i think. Thanks god for his winning mentality, i can't imagine what would happen if he was thinking like DJ. And i think the team needs a new coach desperately, it really can't get any worse.

How will they lose Luka soon? He isn't going anywhere for 6 years minimum, with the 4 year rookie contract and 2 years min as an RFA. It's going to be difficult to surround Luka with the requisite talent in the near future to really be competitive, but Cuban isn't afraid to be pro active at least to try to make the team good. I can't decide if I want the Mavs to fluke a top 5 pick or not at this point. It might be better to convey the pick and wait for 2020, where assuming they can't snag a difference maker with all the cap space in free agency they are likely to be bad again. I actually liked Reddish in terms of top 2019 draft talent even over Zion purely due to the skillset fit with Luka, with his shooting ability, length and defense, but he's been incredibly underwhelming so far. I think the Mavs should be looking to offload players if they can for draft picks which Cuban has had no respect for acquiring or keeping as a means of talent acquisition for many years.

It's very easy to build a team around Luka, he can play 1-3 and even 4 . You just need to fire rc today and stop signing trash to huge contracts. It was obvious before we signed Daj that he's coming here to pad his rebs. I don't mind that Barnes contract since we had to sign someone anyway + he was young and promissing. But you MUST stop signing all these over the hill vets and play them big minutes instead of developing youth.

When people with Dallas logos are saying the solution is to fire Rick Carlisle, I know they are not Maverick fans. Just Luka fans. I remember this on ClutchCity when Yao was around. Just a bunch of player fans who do not care about the team or even the other players on the team. Just Maximize their BAE and let the other chips fall where they may.

Bunch of Mavs fans had problems with Rick going years back. I respect him, but I'm not sure that he is the best type of coach for rebuilds, which we were in/did in the last couple of years, and probably nowhere near finished yet.

It's fair to be critical of RC and certainly to not be enarmored with the team around Doncic. But some of Luka's fans are really embarrassing themselves with some of these extreme posts. And I say that as someone who has Doncic in his top 3 favorite players already.
