If the US is not blowing out a team by 50 in the first few mins people get worried.

LeBron was like 10/10 when he checked back in during the second quarter. Excellent level of play

Much better quarter. Just play defense and everything else will take care of itself.

His second stint was better than the first quarter imo.

Out of curiosity, is there any difference at all in the FIBA ball / rim / court that could explain why so many US players seem to be having trouble shooting the ball? I get off days and all, but it seems like almost every player is "off" to a degree that doesn't make much sense.

Lebron's first Olympics was 20 years ago. He didn't get much minutes then and the team was horribly built with Marbury and Iverson getting the majority of the backcourt minutes.

But man it is crazy 20 years later he is pretty much the guy leading USA basketball. Say what you want about him, but enjoy him while you can... he's one of the best I've seen during my life and the fact he has been able to play at such a high level for so long is incredible.

Yeah he's been fine. We can live with that. Just don't be a ball-stopper and at least try to play defense.

If we're talking about the colonial culture & wealth divide, okay, i get your point.

But... no. In the US we have political power, compared to PR. They do not have a legitimate government advocating for them.

Their minimum wage & average annual income is way lower, while the US profits off of them. Thanks to the Jones act all of their groceries are way more expensive than the States.

They have to export/import using US ships. No choice.

Billionaires are using the island as a tax haven & stealing public property without repercussions.

Yea, I thought second quarter Embiid was fine and it wasn’t like Tatum or curry were really lighting it up, so I wouldn’t say Embiid was our primary problem like he’s been in other games. To your point, he needs to just hustle, play defense and keep the ball moving.

Without a sweat and now we’re up almost 20. Puerto Rico playing with nothing to lose so they’ll keep coming at em but I can see this ballooning to 40 if the US continues to take their opponent seriously.

America is such an odd term to me, as a citizen of the United States.

There are 23 countries in North America and then another 12 countries in South America.

I understand in the world, of those 35 countries the US are most commonly thought of as "Americans" but it's like there are 34 other countries within the continents ending in America.

Actually, Tatum has 8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He's playing pretty good.

I dunno if the rims are 'different', they sound different... but that could be microphone placement in these games versus NBA.
