Everybody said the Memphis Grizzlies were morons when they traded Pau. All they did was draft Marc and turn into a respectable, better team within 3 years.

Howard was rehabbing and planning to leave. Pau would not have taken the Magic to the promised land. Bynum would not have got them past the Heat and he was no guarantee to stay. They could have traded for another Shag/Dwight big man ready to depart.

As it is, they will play a lot of rookies, and they will have three additional draft picks, their own, and Harkless; who is 19 years old. Nobody thought too much of McGrady when he was 19. Harkless could turn out to be a fine player.

I think people are piling on and I will be the only guy besides the Magic GM to take a hit, errrr, to think this is a decent enough deal.

Seriously, I don't think it is awful. It reminds me of Memphis trading Pau. Orlando had to do something. This was it.
