Yes, Britney Spears famously never had to deal with people following her and invading her personal space. And yet her people never attacked anyone.
Based on witness accounts, the security guard should definitely be fired and there should be a public apology if those are Spurs employees.
If Wemby didn’t see anything ok cool but laughing about it while telling the story is an immature look and he definitely needs some media training.
But frankly the whole thing reeks of misogyny.

Are we sure they didn't? Spears saying they didn't isn't the same thing as that being true. I imagine her security was much more inclined to dissuade pursuit before they got to within grabbing range. If they did grab her, security would've definitively broken their grip on her, and most likely firmly removed them from her immediate proximity.
The whole thing is on film, and yet no charges were pressed, despite it obviously not being okay with Spears. Misogyny? No Some folks are definitely letting their criticism of her stray into that territory. But saying a woman is responsible for her actions is not misogyny. Trying to remove her agency in an attempt to defend her is misogyny. She's not a little kid who didn't know better.
I understand that you may not know about or don't trust all of the other information that's come out. Honestly, we won't know what happened unless the footage comes out. But no, a man shouldn't lose his job because he wouldn't let an entitled woman grab his client who was trying to get away. If he squared up and slapped her, that would be one thing. If he just knocked her hand off him, there's nothing wrong with that. Folks suggesting a man would've received a lighter response there are kidding themselves.

Why? Because he knocked away a hand of someone touching his client without his consent? He didn't square up and go 12 rounds with her face. People trying to pretend like Spears wasn't completely out of line remind me of folks who downplay female teachers assaulting their students. Get rid of that double-standard. She's not a victim in this. She's fine. A guy did his job and did not go overboard. That she's famous shouldn't change that.
A person gently tapping someone on the shoulder reminds you of teachers assaulting students.....
Yes if you're going to ignore everything else I've said. It's a pretty big parallel when it comes how society treats unwanted contact by women (especially older attractive woman toward young men). Brittany is not a victim. You don't have a right to touch someone. The aftermath has given this predatory and maybe racist overtones and has taken this from unfortunate to alarming.
A tap on the shoulder is a gentle way to get someone's attention that isn't looking your way. I'd feel the same way no matter who was involved. Security often overreacts violently to harmless situations. You haven't even seen the video and you know Brittany's not a victim.

I'm not sure you understand how involvement works. He doesn't have to be the one assaulting her to be involved in the situation. There would also be no "extent of his involvement" if it "didn't involve him at all," so right there you're contradicting yourself.
I don't think you understand involvement. He was not involved in the slap at all. Simply being in proximity of the event does not equate involvement. So I'll say it again - he was not involved in this altercation. I also was not contradicting myself at all. The extent of one's involvement being traced to his proximity to an event does not constitute being actually involved in the event.
You can continue to whine about semantics if you want but I really don't care. Victor had nothing to do with this incident and it is pathetic that TMZ is trying to paint it like he was
She was trying to get a photo with Wemby and tapped/grabbed him on the shoulder. He was involved but not to blame. He doesn’t need to apologize for anything here.
No one owes her an apology-
You think this is the first person slapped by security when someone touched the vip?
Living in dc...trust me...run up yelling some vips name in a British accent....touch said vip from behind after infiltration of the security bubble...you will be hit...
They don’t have time to figure out if she has a weapon-

She apparently was yelling at him and he kept it moving....they knew she was there....and didn’t know her intent

Let's consider the following hypothetical:
A middle-aged black man with a history of mental instability pursues a 19 years old blonde female celebrity and touches her from behind without her consent or any pre-existing connection between them. What happens next, and how is the incident reported?

You think security details in DC slap people? As a DCer sounds to me like you live in Maryland.
It’s a decent analogy otherwise though because part of the DC security detail job is to know who other VIPs are so they don’t make dumb and embarrassing mistakes like this one.

Re: Victor Wembanyama Mega-Thread - For all your Wembanyama needs!
I think it's bad Spears got hit.
I think her insistence on getting ever closer, 'infiltrating' was the word an eye witness used, while calling out to him in a British accent, is weird as is touching / grabbing Wemby.
I've seen security shove and manhandle fans plenty of times at concerts and film festivals when musicians and actors and directors were leaving events. Crowds have screamed and cried out at the physicality, and then it blew over as quickly as it began.
Not sure how Spears ought to have been assessed as famous and harmless in a moving scrum (haven't seen footage, just going by various descriptions of those there who have talked about it), from behind, in a disguised accent.
Celebs have channels that plebs don't in terms of access. Not saying she deserved being struck but acting like a fan then using her fame platform and leaving out certain parts that security had to assess in real time isn't helping the situation especially after the security went over and talked with her to try to diffuse the incident.
I'm sure security protocols will be reviewed (perhaps increased) including how close a group or person is allowed to get to begin with.

Could see it happening with Kanye and like Millie Bobby Brown or something, just a matter of time

looks like security is doing what theyre supposed to, its his job to keep randos from running up and touching the dude, doesn't matter who it is. If Britney wants to meet Wemby I'm sure that she has to avenues to arrange that appropriately. She's acting no different than the swarming fans and paparazzi that she hates herself
