He had it coming, he was playing dirty the whole night and he had punched Carter Williams without the Refs noticing anything...

Definitely a cheap shot but Dunleavy deserved it that series.

So he deserved a potentially career altering injury?

Look at the speed his head is falling backwards. Imagine if it hit the knees of one of those folks sitting there.

This was a potentially deadly play - luckily it wasn't.

That's less dangerous than punching someone in the throat.

This scumbag punched MCW in the throat while he was in the air and did the same to Giannis on few players later and you talk about injuries?

**** yea this PoS deserves it.

I did a youtube search for "Dunleavy punches" and the first thing that comes up is Giannis hitting a defenseless Dunleavy while he's shooting, while down 30.

Any chance you have a video to this supposed dirty play by Dunleavy? Can't find it on youtube. You would think if it was such a blatant dirty play as described, he would have been ejected like Giannis was for his dirty play...

Luka is 9-1 in his last 10 with the lottery team.

Yet most people still put Giannis ahead. Why?

Because Giannis is playing better

Well, not according to most stats.

Giannis is now ahead in PIPM, RAPTOR, WS/48, PER to go along with much better on/off splits. Luka only has him beat in BPM.

Which makes sense because Giannis is better while Doncic has it more [BPM!]

I would've posted my new weekly rankings yesterday morning, but I decided to wait until I know whether the league is going to allow scorekeepers to mark made baskets as misses and withhold points from teams because "no one" (except for everyone) saw them score. If the league allows this, I would feel too silly caring enough to keep up with something like my own MVP rankings.

I agree, but until the league makes a ruling, I'll be using the present tense.

MCW had to have dental surgery after that game, he lost a tooth or two. A vet should have decked scumleavy but Giannis had to step up instead. One of my favourite Giannis moments, great leader at such a young age.

Giannis is arguable the best defender in the league, he is playing on elite level both ends of the floor and impacting the game in so many ways. You can't say the same thing for Luka.

You'd pretty much just have to be a contrarian to not have Giannis with a healthy lead at this point. Currently annihilating the PER record 20+ games in, all while putting up better box and advanced numbers across the board than last season, while playing both ends of the court at an elite level, while leading his team to a damn near 12 SRS and 70-win pace all without another All-NBA sidekick. If that doesn't satisfy literally every single criteria for what the MVP is, then I don't know what game you're watching.

Honestly, the moment when Giannis speared him was when I knew he'd be a great player. Certainly not this good, don't get me wrong. But he was a bundle of raw talent that you wondered if he'd ever put it together. That cheap shot on Dunleavy was proof to me that he had the fire in him to be a great player. As wild as that sounds. Proud of what he's become thus far in his career.

There have been far worse calls or oversights in both Basketball and other sports. This wouldn't even be near the top.

Not sure why you are so against the scorekeeper. The scorekeeper can only award points of baskets the refs judge to be made shots.
