Lebron started calling himself "King James" during his sophomore year of high school. This is the exact image he's always wanted. Don't let the court historians try to tell you otherwise. The kid never had a sane support structure and, surprise, has grown up to become a perpetual teenage douchebag of epic proportions.

Windhorst actually covered him fairly when in Cleveland.

RIght, because you didn't have your own nickname in High School?

Oh capitalism. When you whore yourself out to me, how I love you so, but how I loathe you equally when your garden of wonders visits unworthy souls.

P.S. To anyone with the thought that ESPN is losing respect by doing this, they don't give a ****. The only form of respect they want is in the measure of their monetary wealth.

I love how anything Heat related , no matter how uninteresting .. goes at least 10 pages in here.
And people wonder why ESPN is capitalizing on all that interest.

ESPNNewYork.com
ESPNLosAngeles.com
ESPNChicago.com
ESPNBoston.com
ESPNDallas.com

Why couldn't they just create an ESPNMiami.com and include this there, along with coverage of the Dolphins, Canes, and Marlins?

This is what they shouldve done instead, if they wanted to make a Miami Heat dedicated page.

Doing this for ANY team is just overkill. Doing this for ANY player is overkill. This is just plain sad sports journalism.

Yeah I agree. They shouldn't pay special attention to the best professional basketball team in history. In fact, they should pretend the Heat don't exist, because the collusion between Wade, LeBron and Bosh is a disgrace to basketball. They should be banned from the league and forced to play in obscure post-communist countries where the audience sits on metal folding chairs and the scoreboards are run by coachs' wives.

It's something you'd expect from one of the local media outlets, like the Herald or Sun-Sentinel. Get a grip, ESPN.

+1,

I can expect the local coverage doing something like this. ESPN is getting pathetic fast, I don't even watch Sportscenter anymore to be honest but this has pretty much done it for me

Y'all just jealous. If LeBron was white none of this would happen.

Either that or this is a load of garbage of having the game be more about an individual than the team...good job ESPN.

ESPN is about making money just like any other business is. Regardless of whether people like ESPN or not, they will read the articles in the index which will make ESPN money. It's a smart business move.
