It was overkill not to mention it happened right after Lebron took a giant dump on the Cavs on national TV. One thing rolls into another and again, if you look at every instance in isolation instead of the whole picture I feel that it’s extremely short-sighted.

It’s speculation on what the other fan bases would do. Did the Celtics have a celebration like the Heat did when they got Ray and KG? If so I missed it. I agree with your conclusion, everyone is mad about the way Lebron made his “decision”. Which is the reason that “classy” (or lack of class) keeps getting brought up.

Charles Barkley should be able to insult a group of players and an entire fanbase repeatedly for 9 months without them saying anything derogatory towards him.

RealGM's moral compass is once again pointing the right way on this:

CLASSLESS = Fans who tell their main detractor he sucks* ** ***

*Unless those fans are reacting to a free agent announcing his decision to sign elsewhere on TV of all places. Then those fans can chant whatever hate-filled expletives they want, print it on signs and T-shirts, post it all over the Internet and on billboards around town, burn effigies in the streets, and encourage their children to partake in these activities as well. And all will agree that these fans are still classy.

And here’s a serious question; do Heat fans REALLY think that the players and organization have been “classy” this past year?

In my opinion the Miami HEAT team, players and fans have remained very classy all year long. People hurled all manner of ignorance at them, none of it based on fact but rather petty innuendo. Rather than responding in kind the team went out and simply won games and fans stayed focused on the finish line. This team reminds me our our great President of the United States Barak Obama, he too faces constant hate and ignorance not based on fact but on ugly, vile hatred, yet he shrugs it off and continues to lead this great Nation. I look forward to seeing many HEAT championships, people like Barkley have to eat crow and our great President re-elected.

I think it's funny, I like that Charles doesn't like us and that we're egging him on a bit. As long as people don't throw stuff, that's just dumb.

That's part of the charm of the TNT guys, yeah they have biases, but we all do. At least the TNT guys will admit them. Watching the ESPN guys before a game is awful because they're all trying so hard to hide their biases that their analysis is tainted, I'd rather Chuck tell me he hates my team and then talk about it than hear Wilbon discuss how he thinks Miami might be in trouble and pretend he's being neutral.

The only thing that's annoyed me so far is Steve Kerr, he's a little too much of a Bulls homer for my taste, and he does it in a way where he's trying to hide it (like Wilbon) that makes it even more frustrating. Also he does it during the game, I don't mind it before and after but I prefer a mostly neutral team to announce the game when I'm watching.

Someone posted a hilarious exchange between Reggie and Kerr last night, Reggie said something like "If LeBron could just hit that 3-point shot consistently he'd be unguardable", and Kerr followed it up with "Kind of like Rose was this year!"... yeesh.

Kerr also has a real bad habit of predicting impending doom for Miami every 5 minutes.
