Lakers should then trade with the bobcats

DJ Augustin-- Barea
Kobe--- Goudlock
Beasley-- Artest
Tyrus Thomas--- Wallace
Howard--- Murphy

Very nice balance

what's wrong with you? The options aren't:

When did I say fisher is better than the midget or that murphy is better than rasheed (at this point we don't know)?

My point is that A top5 PF + a Top2 C for D12 + two BENCH PLAYERS isn't good. That's my point.

Barea and beasley are fighting for Minutes on a .500 team. We could get them or players similar to them or much better (but on a "bad" contract) than them with our First Rounds picks + TPE.

That's my point.

+ 2 bench players? Newsflash...We already have on of the worst PG/SF rotations in the league!
Those two "bench players" can only improve our team by making our older players come off the bench + you are also getting the best C in the league which also has youth + Kobe, I don't see how this can be bad.

Yeh and we can improve our 1 and 3 by taking players (better than barea for sure) from rebuilding/tanking teams with our Picks...

So that's a moot point.

The real question here is: Gasol + Bynum for D12 is a fair trade?

If you think that's a fair trade then adding two bench players makes a lot of sense.

IMHO it's not. Bynum + Gasol is too much and we aren't winning anything with old Kobe + D12 and a lot of mediocre players / scrubs.

But if you think adding mid/pot is what makes that a good trade then I wholeheartedly disagree.

Oh, and what would make Lakers want to use a TPE on a PF?

Exactly.

lol at how quickly this thread became 10 pages this trade looks horrible for Minny why would they even do this? I for one have not been paying attention to how Derrick Williams has been doing so far this season but has he really not show any promise at all? Beasley,Williams, and Barea for Pau and his contract..really? Why would Minnesota even agree to helping out the Lakers basically. Also D.Howard would basically have to agree to this also.

I don't understand how some people don't get this.

People who say no because Pekovic is developing please stop, Pau is a 2 NBA time champion still playing at a high level, Lakers just need the youth, something Minny already has.

Whats not to get is we need a good wing player WAAAAY more then we need Pau. then theres Gasols MONSTER salary

If were gonna trade Williams (our best trade asset) we want a good wing player

This makes sense for LA if Dwight can play 48 minutes a game for the rest of the season.

why would the wolves want to do this, love is arguably the best pf in the game, pekovic is playing out of his mind and is great fit beside love, if anything they need perimeter scoring....... i really dont think this makes them that much better..... plus they add a ton of salary, but its great for both the lakers and magic

Pretty good for Orlando. Get the second best center in the league and the number 2 pick in last year's draft who has loads of potential.

Lakerfan17 wrote:Are people serious about this not being good for Minnesota? Beasley has no future there and Williams potential isnt better than Gasol, realistically speaking. To be better(not equal to, better) than Gasol he would have to reach level akin to a peak Garnett type player. You KNOW when you have a player like that. Gasol is 31 and probably has 3-4 years left at the level he's at with his skill and size. With him Minnesota could be a contender as soon as next year. Not to mention the Rubio/Gasol connection terms of keeping Rubio in the future and the excitement it would bring to that franchise.

Pek is 24, a true center unlike Pau and has been averaging 18/10 since he became a starter. Why on earth would the Wolves do this when it doesn't address their pitiful sg and sf positions? Makes zero sense for them.

not to mention they add like 15 mill per year salary, and with love's extension kicking in next season their is no way they can improve their team going forward

Don't see why the T'Wolves would do this. They take on more salary than they are sending out and don't exactly need Pau Gasol with Kevin Love and the emergence of Pekovic. Trading Beasley and Barea on top of it seems unnecessary and they'd be giving up on Derrick Williams way too easily.

If it happens though, great trade for the Magic if they can dump a contract and milk out a pick or two.
