Kobe has 2 scoring titles in 15 seasons.

He was never won scoring titles at will.

forgetting when he dropped 35 a season??

Nope. I didn't forget it.

That was one of his two scoring titles in his 15 season career that i mentioned in my post.

It would be funny if the the Kings double team him every time he touches the ball. Of course i doubt that will stop him, he'll still chuck away. But it'd be great entertainment watching him shoot over double teams while ignoring his open teammates.

If David Robinson felt a need to score 72 or whatever it was to get it, I don't doubt other players would for it. 38 is not much for Kobe.

It's only fair. He was leading the league in points for the entire season until he missed games as a result of that calf injury.

The hate is strong in you. If he doesnt go for it, you see it as him protecting his image. If he does get it, guaranteed you would also say he is selfish. You a bulls fan no? Newsflash....MJ was also selfish, but thats also what made his drive so ferocious in becoming the goat. Kobe is of the same cloth. I know he'll go for it and he should. Wats wrong with adding to your legacy?

Jordan was selfish? How so? Jordan's best years were 51-53.9% field goal shooting. If he's shooting, its good for the team. It isn't "selfish". Kobe is a career 45% field goal shooter. And even worse in the NBA Finals. If he's shooting 20+ shots per game, its going to hurt LA for at least a portion of the game. I've always felt LA could have been a lot better. They never converted their potential, even during the championship years. Kobe has been selfish on the court. Jordan wasn't. Jordan was smart.

But if we call Jordan selfish in a personality-related way, the way he speaks to teammates. Then I agree. And that's what I liked about Jordan. He held his teammates accountable. I think Kobe needed to be a bit more like that. Instead Kobe is too layback on the court, always smiling and laughing. He has no moxie.

Bryant could have sat out vs. San Antonio and Oklahoma City, in order to preserve his lead over Durant. Had Bryant sat out those two games as "all the seasoned superstars and vets" have been doing, his scoring average would still be at 28.07. Durant is at 28.03 after tonights game against Denver. Bryant could have sat out and won the scoring title at the expense of his trying to help his team win vs OKC and SA

So he knew he would score less than 28 in those games? Lol. Terrible argument. Sitting out games doesn't automatically make sure that Durant doesn't increase his scoring nor does Kobe playing those games guarantee that he lowers his avarages.

sounds like a horrid drinking game. If he gets it going that's going to be a shot every 35-40 seconds haha

I don't think he will get it. I reckon he will play early and not shoot that much. Then Brown won't put him back in game towards then end when he has like 24.

OR, Brown may say you've done so much in this league I will let you go out and try to get it. Oh the hate that he gets banged up in 4th when trying to get that record. Maybe Demarcus will smack him one for jacking up 3's late in game if they up 20.

LOL. A guy who wants to have the greatest career he can have and who knows his career is gonna be judged upon rings, MVPs, and scoring titles, etc...is a punk for trying for one of the three in a game that is meaningless to his team?

That's a punk? Okay.

Also, winning the OKC game was important in clincing the third seed.

Definitely not at the cost of rings, but why would him putting up 40 be jeopardizing his chance to get number 6 this year? He needs the run with that extended rest. Might as well go for it. No one's gonna remember in 10 years if he gunned on the last day to do it. They'll just see that dude won the scoring title 16 years into the league, and say, "damn, that was a bad ****."

Exactly.

Only butthurt Kobe haters at RealGM will remember.

Kobe needs to man up, drop 70 on good %s and get out of PBP with a W.

We NEED that loss man. I can already see how we're gonna fvk it all up scrap and fight for the most meaningless unimportant W in franchise history, heck I wouldn't be surprised if the morons upstairs reactivate Thornton back from his injury just for this game

I forgot that this might be possibly the last game of the Kings in Sac-town. I expect the Kings to come out the gates fired up, I'm sure they'll keep it close and Kobe will have his chance to gun in the 4th as usual.
Wouldn't it be insane if It came down to the last shot of the game to determine who wins the scoring tittle?

Kobe plays in a meaningless game to win a scoring title he's a bum
Kobe doesn't play in the game and doesn't win he sucks for not winning it
Durant plays full minutes in meaningless game to pad scoring lead, no biggie

did I get everything?
