How? They would have a nice trio of McLemore, Iggy, Cousins.

How is that a good trio? Iggy is going to be 30, his career wil be winding down while the other two are coming into their primes. Also, not competing with anybody with that trio, middle of the pack team if they perform well, high lottery if they don't.

Well, isn't that the similar state of the Nuggets? It really doesn't make a difference.

You can call it whatever you want .... But when your dealing with facts .... You can't back up your talk ... Where has Iggy changed a culture? Ever? In his career?

You see just because you sayyyy something ... Just because you thinnnnk something ... Dosent actually make it true .... You see because in the reallll world we don't use imagination to make a point .... We actually use factual points of refrence ...

Ohhh ...ok

philadelphia-perennial playoff team with iggy
denver-was a legit threat in the west until gallo went down

looks like i win this round again.

Lol Melo took the nuggets to the conf finals .... Iggy? Mehhhhh first round BOUNCE to the warriors ...lol

Iverson took the 6ers to finals ..Iggy? Never got his team outta the first round ... Never got his team over .500..lol

You know what ... You actually might be on to something .... He is a culture changer after all ... He takes championship contending teams and burries them stuck in the first round

Good eye guy ..... You really spotted that one out there

Believe the Nuggets could still compete, Kings I don't.

Iggy must have an amazing agent. Ask Philly how maxing iggy worked out for them.

If the kings wanted veteran leadership why not hurl money at billups? Cheaper and he is an actual leader.

Man there's some wild stuff going on this off season ..lol

Andray Blatche has a PER of almost 20. And he got $1.4m for one year. Make whatever conclusions you want from that.

Andray Blatche had A really good season last year .... Hence his per reflecting that ... he also had a history of being a known head case until he had a ressurection of sorts in Brklyn if he can do that one or two more times i can see that dollar amount definately raising up ........ I don't get your point in bringing him up tho?

The reason I'm bringing it up is because defense, passing, leadership and other intangibles are not really taken into account in a player's PER. Iggy scores high in all those criteria. I agree that 14mil is still high for what he brings, but for a small market team eager to change their team from perennial losers with a cancerous lockerroom to a good team with a good culture that is competing for the playoffs, Iggy might be their best shot.

iggy is not the second coming of lebron james. hes a good two way player who will be a calming veteran presence, something sacramento has been lacking since the days of rick adelman. thats all im trying to say. dont know why you are so caustic and confrontational. :(

billups doesnt fill a need for them. sacramento has enough guards. they need a legit sf and thats what iggy is. i doubt billups would want to sign with sac anyways. he will probably stick with the clippers for a chance at a championship

I dont get this...

Wasnt the new CBA supposed to help teams so they could open there wallets and pay players? If the CBA is working correctly and teams are making more money than they will be spending it on players.

Evans is a player that is best at PG with the ball in his hands. Good luck with paying 12M a year for a guard like that off the bench, I guess.

The culture itself is going to change given the fact the Kings have new ownership, a new GM and a new coach. Iggy is a hard working veteran, who will bring a lot to a young team. He will not be expected to change the culture completely by himself, he will only be expected to lead by example and be a veteran presence. The idea is a step in the right direction for the Kings. It also only a four year contract, not a 7 year contract like some of these people used to get. Even he falls off in his last year, the hope would be that the other guys would be stepping up

Don't get me wrong ...I like the guy ... And I agree the culture change in sacramento is going to be largely based on the ownership change FO change coaching change and just getting rid of the magoofs as a whole for the city .... and little to do with Andre Igudala ..... But my thing is ... For that kind of money ... That's stupid the dudes already on the decline and if you wanted "solid veteran leadership" you can potentially go out and get 2-3 guys for 14 mil ...instead of pouring all of that into one big bloated contract

Man for a fringe All-Star guy he sure has done well for himself. Got the max after his rookie deal and is getting his second max.

Props to his agent.

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine 1m
RT @sam_amick: The Kings have pulled their offer for free agent Andre Iguodala & will no longer pursue him, I'm told. Story to come
