Parson is a black hole on offense. Always taking 3's that make you go huh wtf!!! His Defense is pretty good so he was in the game a lot but I'm glad he is off the rockets and on the mavs.

Overrated?? You serious?? Parsons is easily one of the most underrated players in the NBA. He's only 25 and is only going to get better. He already had perennial all-star written all over him and now he can learn from one of the best head coaches in the game. He's going to flourish under Carlisle.

Parsons is a poor shot creator, weak finisher, and routinely gets cooked on defense by bigger more athletic wings. He is overrated because he does not have the tools to be anything more than role player on a championship team and yet he is getting 46 million.

For all the folks saying DAL overpaid on Parsons, look at it this way: The Mavs paid $25M/yr for the combo of Dirk and Parsons. Dirk's discount gave the Mavs the flexibility to throw a little more $ Parson's way.

Exactly. If you asked any team if they would want a Dirk/Parsons combo for $25 mil/yr, they would all gladly take that

And get him out of the rivalry team, which will potentially make Howard panic after another frustrating season. This is more to hurting the rockets team than helping tha mavs :D

When did Parsons get so overrated? Given a choice between him and Hayward, I would flip a coin.

Rockets are the ones that did the right thing here. Utah are the ones that f'ed up.

Say someone stupidly walked through the high-crime part of town shouting, "I have money!" Then he just handed the muggers his money instead of fighting back, thus avoiding getting stabbed.

He did the right thing by not getting stabbed, but he's damn moron for putting himself in that position for no good reason.

perhaps morey had a deal with parsons agent who handed him dwight to let parsons walk earlier

Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.

I can understand not matching him for payroll flexibility next year, but.

Trading away Lin, Asik, a 2015 1st, losing Parsons and only getting Ariza is a huge fail.

The off-season has been disappointing for the Rockets because they couldn't get anybody to sign. But good for them, that they didn't cripple their cap going forward with that ridiculous contract for Chandler Parsons. The jokes on the Mavericks for signing a slightly above average player to a superstar contract.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Mavs has cap. It is not an issue. They probably put clauses into the contract that allow opt out if Parson fail to reach a certain level.

Parson is a good player but not a max player. He is a role player. He cannot create his own shot. If you watch any Rockets game, you would know what I mean

You don't think any of that will improve under Carlisle? Nobody is saying that he isn't overpaid, right now. We all agree on that. But in no way is he just some glorified role player that you make him out to be. He's young and still has tons of potential and room to grow next to Dirk & under Carlisle. You talk as if he's reached his potential and will never get any better. It's quite the opposite.

lol, if he had matched everyone would be bagging him about paying a role player 15m per year.

I actually don't think this will effect the w's at all by replacing Ariza with Parsons.

Lets see what morey does filling out the bench because the starters are still pretty damn good.

I bet DHoward is ticked off. Pretty sure I remember him saying Parsons played a big role in him coming to Houston.

How long do you think their current 2 stars are going to go along with hey we get more cap space next year? Especially since they are probably going to have to lose both of Jones and Motiejunas to get close to max cap room now after they signed Ariza to a multiyear deal meaning the contracts for Howard, Hardin, and Ariza will add up to about $46.5 million alone next year.

Think about if the headline read:

"Houston trades Parsons, Asik, and Jeremy Lin to Washington for Trevor Ariza"

Because that's essentially what has happened here. That's how much Houston messed up.

To be honest with you, I think Chandler Parsons is supremely over-rated on this site. They aren't much worse off with Ariza replacing him...

And I guarantee Ariza would have been closer to Damien Lilard on that series ending shot. :D
