It's great to see him become a serviceable NBA player. Must be day/night for the Lakers playing under Walton vs Scott.

Lou, Young, Randle, Clarkson, Russel, Mozgov and Calderon... pretty much the whole team are shooting career highs!

Glad to see his defense improved tremendously, he was unbearable to watch the last few seasons.

I haven't seen it in years, but it reminds me of the Band of Brothers mini-series. David Schwimmer's character was a tough-nosed drill sergeant type, but lacked the charisma and tactical skills to lead his men in battle. And then there was Winters, a lower-ranked soldier, who was a tactical genius on the field and led his men to victory in all the prep drills. Eventually Schwimmer's character was transferred to another site as a basic training instructor for his ability to get soldiers in shape, while Winters worked his way up the ranks of the military.

Schwimmer is Byron. Byron just had them run sprints all preseason, even setting up trash bins in different areas of the court for the players to puke in. But when it came to game time, he was an x's and o's dummy. He had his methods, and it rubbed his players the wrong way, but they only respected him because they had to out of fear (ie Nick Young being benched all season over a benign statement about the team; Tarik Black being benched all season for...no one knows why; Randle and DLo being pulled in and out of the starting lineup without explanation)

Luke OTOH, is a natural leader, very charismatic, understood that in this era he needed to earn the player's respect. Not demand it. You hear his players say things like "I'd run through a wall for him". His strategy and on-court tactics are far more advanced then Byron's iso chuckfest. He's Winters. :usa:

7th in the NBA and 1st amongst SGs in eFG%

Higher TS%, PER, eFG%, 3pt%, BPM, WS/48 and free throw rate than Klay Thompson.

Uncle P is having an excellent season. He should get votes for comeback player.

MVP of the league... NICHOLAS Aaron YOUNG... you heard it. Most Valuable P. The Swag. Not afraid of the moment. He doesn't seek the spotlight, the spotlight seeks him. Chad OchoCincho Johnson should be handin him over the hall of fame jacket. This guy is having a hall of fame career. Biggest legend on the forum, more famous and far worthwhile to be talkin bout than them Jordan Vs Kobe posts.

He's really playing the best basketball of his career. I'm not a numbers guy but the eye test backs it up. Making defensive plays, momentum swinging shots, making the extra pass. After the year he had last season, he should definitely be in running for Comeback player. Money bet would've had him playing for another team at start of the season. Now he's the reliable vet.
