As of now he has a treasure drove of average players and a bunch of picks. His next few moves will actually determine how good of a GM he really is.

Brook Lopez left the game today too and they will probably be super cautious with it.

Lopez leaves game with sore foot.
Unbelievable.

If he goes down then they'll be neck and neck with Philly for worst team in the NBA.

I can't even imagine how depressing it must be to be a nets fan right now.

They are clearly the second worst team in the East.
If Lopez goes down they are probably worse than Philly, or at least on par.

If Lopez goes down the Celtics have a very serious chance of not just getting a top 3 pick, but the number one overall pick.

Wow.

maybe 3W 9L? putting them at 3W and 16L for the season as teams approach 20 games. If they beat the Suns and Knicks perhaps 5 wins.

The C's were all hoping for a serious look at a top 3 pick.
They could get a really serious look at the number one pick in the 2016 draft.

If they go 4 wins and 9 losses over the next 13 games, they'll be on track for 16-18 wins for the season. And that's assuming Lopez can play those games.

If Lopez' foot gets so bad before the All Star break that he has to miss 10+ games, they may even be worse than Philly.
Wow.

Nah I think assembling a team that made two Finals appearances and won a ring have already determined how good he is.

So you're saying he's in the Joe Dumars category of gms?

When the Nets got Rondae, I thought they might salvage this, but letting go D-Will seriously looks like the dumbest move, primarily because they aren't going to get anyone worth a damn to make them good in free agency in 2016. So Boston is going to get the opportunity to three high lottery picks in a row (2016, pick swap - 2017, 2018). How does Billy King show up for work without feeling like an absolute piece of ****?

He traded Favors, picks that ended up being Kanter and Lillard and now these three. Jeez man. The draft is not something that should be neglected to this egregious a degree

For celtics, the next 3 years of picks from the Nets could greatly accelerate the rebuild by moving them for a player in a trade.
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

If Lopez is out for several games I think it could literally be mid December before they snag a win. This team is just awful. They played the worst D in the league and couldn't score at all. That pick is top 3 easy

The Nets trade was heavily criticized, there is no hindsight about judging how awful that trade was.

The Nets already screwed themselves into a massive cap space problem. They then traded away their future in hopes that they can nab one championship to at least show for their destined mediocrity.

The Nets at best were seen as an outside shot to upset the Heat, but saying they were anything more than light dark horses is a lie. Maybe a few dumbies thought that, but there were certainly a large number of people who were skeptical of how good the Nets would be - even if their players were able to play a full season, which many people knew was not likely.

To make matters worse, they formed a team that could have only been competitive for one year, and they ended up signing someone who had never coached before in his life in Jason Kidd.

What the Nets did really made no sense, it was just a desperate attempt at getting a ring. It's one of the worst trades ever tbh. Sadly, it might not even be the worst trade Billy King ever did.

I do think if that team was healthy they would have had a shot at beating Miami due to their size advantage, but they probably would have lost in the finals anyway.

Also, Paul Pierce was a rental if I can recall... :nonono:

Well I agree in general. Kidd hiring was bad for that team and they obviously gave up too much to get 2 aging stars.

I think everyone expected Deron and Joe to carry that team. They ended up with PP being their best player in the playoffs.

It was always an all in move to contend with Miami for 2 years but they just gave up way too much.

If I were going to set an over/under for betting purposes, I'd probably go with 2-10. They are a trash fire, but any given evening...

I hope you're sitting down.

But the Knicks don't have a pick this year either.

i dont think you understand the situation. the knicks never gave an unprotected pick to their biggest division rival, let alone 2. The nets potentially gifted the celtics the foundations for a dynasty

you guys have our pick this year, but the nuggets will get the lowest one.

Just to clarify it's actually not "let alone 2" it's 4 picks that Brooklyn gave Boston. James Young was already drafted in 2014 with the first pick. This year it's Brooklyn's unprotected pick, next year rights to swap unprotected, and 2018 unprotected pick. Also they gained a trade exception from that trade that essentially has turned into Tyler Zeller and Isaiah Thomas.

every year people pick Philly to be far and away the worst team, and there's always that one team that totally out-tanks us.

this year that team is Brooklyn

If Lopez goes down they can unleash Il Mago, finally.
