The thing is texting is a private matter which means you have no freaking idea about who texts whom during any playoff series. No idea at all. None. Zip. Nada. Zilch. But you still have your opinions...

I mean, it was widely confirmed they texted (Green and Durant). But you still have your opinions...

You missed my point completely... it is simpler that way I guess. I will rephrase, you have no idea at all who doesn't text to whom during the playoffs. You don't know to whom Lebron texts during the playoffs. You don't know to whom Steph texts during the playoffs. You don't know to whom Westbrook texts during the playoffs. Neither of us can know how commonplace texting friends on other teams is during the playoffs. My opinion is I have no way of knowing as opposed to your opinion that you somehow know, one is an informed opinion and the other isn't (unless you work for the NSA).

Not a bad analogy. He found a new girl. New girl wasn't necessarily better than the ex, just better for him.

Look at Snottie's TL, LOL. That's not what he's saying.

I know what he's saying, but it's like OKC fans take it: any GSW compliment is a OKC slight. GSW is a tight family atmosphere=OKC isn't. GSW plays selfless ball=OKC are selfish ballstoppers, KD wants to play with Steph=he hates playing with Russ,

Doubt any of it is true. GSW is a different organization than OKC. It was more what Durant wanted. Doesn't make one better than the other. Russ, if having the choice, might feel different, or Blake, CP3 or any other player.

OKC folks making it seem like he treated the choice like it was choosing GS over Sacramento

"He wants to play in the free flowing offense where he can get more open looks and enjoy playing basketaball" or however sounds that crap people write trying to defend him. People act like OKC was a crappy team that couldn't do ****. They were one step in the NBA finals, FINALS, and they could compete for the title.

And people bash Westbrook like, he is the reason Durant left. Westbrook was playing magicly in the playoffs, he made some mistakes. But he looked more matured, responsible, and at times, unstoppable. It's not like Durant was perfect. And that Thunder-Warriors series was one of the best in the last couple of years. OKC made some nice moves this offseason, getting Oladipo was the perfect move, made just so they have more chance against that very Warriors team. And what does this guy do, he goes to that team, like WTF, i just can't understand it, i just can't.

And when i talk to people i know, who play basketball throughout their life, they also say that he's a pussy, and i agree. Like you guys have never played basketball or sports whatsoever and have zero competitive spirit, i just facepalm when i see people making it like this move/decision was anything but a weak ass move

Isn't being competitive wanting to win first place? There's nothing in the definition of competitive that suggests you want a difficult path to being the top. Being competitive simply means you want to become the best and you will do what it takes to get there. That's what Durant has done.

Personally I think people have some twisetd logic that being competitive is a desire to struggle. Competitive people want to be the winner no matter what it takes. Personally, I thinka less competitive person would be fine accepting a career being a perennial 2nd place player as long as it meant he was being "tough".

So if you player basketball on the court, does it make you more competitive if you decide to team with people worse than you? Why do you decide to team with people your skill if you can have a more difficult road with worse team mates? These basketball players you speak of do this crap all the time on a smaller scale. You guys act so high and mighty as if you have never desired better teammates so you can win easier.

Every NBA off season there are about 100 players who jump to teams better than the ones they left. Are these players all pussys?

It isn't, just think about it. For example, stacking the odds in your favor to win a game with someone is wanting to win but it's not wanting to be competitive. Cheating is wanting to win but it's not wanting to be competitive. It's like playing pickup and stacking all the best players together knowing it's not fair, but not wanting to split the teams evenly because you want to win. You're doing it because you want to win, but there's no argument there for doing it because you want to be competitive. If you want to be competitive you would actually be doing the opposite.

Being competitive is wanting a chance to win, wanting to be in the mix and not wanting to be in a situation where you are severly outmatched, that's being competitive. Just wanting to win doesn't require you to want to be competitive. Of course in the NBA even on a stacked team it will still be somewhat competitive at least to some degree, but of course he did put himself in a situation where the level of competitiveness should most likely be much lower on his path to the win.

No kidding. We know the exact reason. He wants the best chance to win a ring and still get paid the max.
Most believe if OKC beat GSW in WCF that he will stay in OKC. After he keep talking why he made his decision. I think it is all BS. He is going to join GSW no matter what.

But as NBA fan of a non-contender, I feel robbed of some great OKC\GS match ups and it'll be hard not to be pulling for Anybody But The Warriors moving forward. I just can't get over the fact that OKC probably would have closed GS out if Durant played better down the stretch.

I'm rooting for Blake to OKC so we can still get that.

From listening to Blake talk in interviews, i'm sure he can't wait to open his comedy club in Tulsa.

Why don't we talk about how Durant had no issue ditching Westbrook? This says more about Westbrook and Presti. Time to get over it guys.

who even cares about these comments or durants decision. KD now finally has a more realistic shot at a title. He could have been loyal to the thunder and never won a chip. Now he could win multiple titles. He already has the individual stats, but true team success has eluded him.
Joining a 73 win team won't help his legacy, but his career will still look more well-rounded with a championship ring.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Except we do know this text did happen. Which is the problem. And I guarantee Russ wasn't texting opponents.

I think about it like this:

I'm deciding between two job offers.

One is in Oklahoma City, the other is in the SF Bay Area (and I don't have to worry about cost of living).

One allows me to accomplish a lot more in my field.

One provides a more relaxed, fun work environment.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be quite happy if Golden State doesn't win, but I can't really blame Durant for his decision.

Not so sure. Golden State literally was favored to win titles without him and I'm pretty sure their own players said as much (draymond green).

If you piggyback to a ring does it really mean anything?

Durant really has to take over as the alpha like Lebron did in Miami for it to really boost his legacy. Otherwise don't see how him piggybacking does much.

I agree both with the people who say this isn't a big deal and with the ones who recognize that it further exposes KD and casts him in a bad light.

The evidence is there for all objective observers; this bit doesn't reveal anything new about him.

If selfish and moody Westbrook was your teammate you would probably want to get away from him too. Also the season has not officially started so why should he not talk about it? If a year from now he is talking about then fine.

People whined about Lebron when he went to Miami, and people are whining about KD joining golden state. The whining will stop once he gets rings. If Durant wins rings it was the right decision.

I legit think they'll get close to 70 wins again.
