Turns out their jump from last in dreb% to second was not sustainable (shocking)

Kyrie has been sensational in Boston with entire defenses geared to stop him.
We can talk about Celtics, regression to mean, etc. but they are 22-5 and those 5 losses were all games with under 4 minutes to go. ]
We can also talk about all of those wins in games they've trailed heading into the fourth and we'd be right back at the regression to the mean.

I'm a raptors fan and we can't justify how we lost to the Celtics that game, we were supposed to win. However, raptors are a different team, and ask out there , even if we lost that game, we are still favourite over the Celtics.

The Celtics peaked in November, that's not how you go deep in the playoffs. They are still going to be fine in the regular season and 1st round, then bye bye. They are just too GREEN.
GO HAWKS.

You don’t think if Celtics win 60 games that Kyrie wouldn’t be in top 3 mvp?
He’s been first team all nba performer his year.
As far as Celtics. We will see where they are in 4 weeks. I am positive. Roster is short due to no Morris. They struggle to score off bench.
As far as defense, it will be OK if their offense gets better off bench. Issue against Jazz was inability to make shots in second and third Q. The bench, especially in second quarter, has been awful this year.
That isn’t as big an issue in playoffs.

There’s almost zero chance if the season ended today that Kyrie would be voted 1st team all league ahead of Harden and Curry.
It’s possible he could finish top 3 in the MVP voting if the Celtics win 60 but it’s far from a certainty. There are several players playing for winning teams with better numbers right now. If the Rockets, Warriors and Cavs all win 60 games as well, where do James, Harden, Curry and Durant fit into the discussion? Not to mention Giannis for the playoff bound Bucks.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Ainge and Stevens are pretty good at their jobs. They could both take home hardware after this season.

You aren’t paying attention. Kyrie would be right there for curry first first team.
It’s a legit debate if season ended today. Kyrie right now 2nd or 3rd in nba Mvp behind harden and maybe Lebron. He would get first team over curry.

One of us isn’t paying attention but it’s not me. Curry has better stars right across the board and Kyrie can’t even lean on having a better record now that the Warrriors have passed the Celtics in the standings.
Kyrie is in the exact same position Isiah Thomas was in last season only IT was actually having a better season. Celtic fans thought IT was an MVP candidate and potential 1st teamed too but none of those things were realistic.

Sigh.
Stats, stats, stats.
Most Valuable Player. Not Most Statable Player.
You guys and stats. Irving has no one on his team like Durant or Klay. Steph isn’t even best player on his team.
This is an award for a player who had the most valuable impact on the league. Take curry off GSW, how many games they win?
Take irving off Celtics. How many games they win?
It’s the reason why LeBron is actually the real MVP, and has been every year for about a decade.
Houston tanks without Harden
Cavs are awful without LeBron
Irving and Celtics, not even a playoff team without Irving.
Curry is great. He’s a HOF player. But they have Durant and Klay there and an incredible forward in Draymond. They still win 60 plus games if curry goes down.
You can’t be MVP if you aren’t the best player on your team.
You guys and stats. They are one measure. This isn’t like Silver slugger award thigh that is only stats based.
And, wasn’t IT fourth or fifth in mvp voting last year? And, he was second team all-nba, rightfully so, behind Harden and Westbrook. Currywas also second team.

And, if we were ranking players, I put curry ahead of irving. That’s not what the mvp and the all-nba teams are for.
I think people get wowed by the stats a little too much. GSW is a machine. That hurts them corn award them. If your team can live without your production, and still be elite, then how valuable are
You?
That is a rhetorical question. Lebron is best player in nba. We all agree on this, right?

Highly doubtful that a healthy Celtics team will struggle with a 6-8 seed in the first round

IT was 2nd team all league and 5th in MVO voting. You just out Kyrie 1st team and top 3 even though he’s having an inferior season.
So both stats and team record are irrelevant? Got it.
Why don’t you explain to both me and the masses what it is that makes Kyrie the equal of Curry so far this season? What would it be that you’re basing that statement on?

Completley depends on who they meet. As a top 3 seed I definitely wouldn’t want to be facing Milwaukee or Philly in round 1 no matter what team I was.

Well, he is averaging 24.3 ppg, shooting 49.5% from the floor, 39% from 3 and a career-high EFG.
And, he is doing it with a team that is one of the youngest in the nba, that starts a rookie, a second-year starter, and a role player in Baynes.
And, Kyrie is just starting to get comfortable.
He also has been lights out In the 4th, and has made his teammates better, Tatum, Brown and Baynes.
And, ask Celtics fans Kyrie or IT. No one is missing IT. Ya gotta watch him play. I think if you just look at box score, your missing it. He isn’t dominating he ball like IT did.
And, I love IT. Kyrie is the goods, however. He and curry are the favorites for that Other guard spot on the first team. Wall, IT, Westbrook won’t be there.

Honestly I’m just glad that the Celtics are who the GB thought they were the night Hayward went down. A 9th to 11th seed. The regression is coming!!! Stevens isn’t a top 10 coach either...
