Caruso’s defense and IQ on the court will keep him in the rotation. He’s a lock for 20 minutes a night.

I do think THT will play if he’s one of the 10 best guys in the regular season. Wesley Matthews better not miss too many shots, that’s all I’m saying. If he goes through Danny Green type slumps this year he may get removed from the rotation completely.

Wes is a stop gap guy. He is something like 34. He will get 1-2 years then THT or Caruso will take his job. Wes is solid but he is a vet min 3&D guy who is a bit too small to guard bigger wings like PG or Kawhi.

I know this is baptism by fire but I can honestly see the Lakers using THT against guys like Kawhi by the end of this year or next year.

Wes is a stop gap guy, agree 100%. The Lakers don’t really have anything invested into him. So if these young guys are outplaying him then he will sit. It’s not like they are paying him 15 million like they were DG.

There is a big difference between Summer League and Pre-season. I’ve never seen a Summer League with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George or Serge Ibaka on the court.

Yes it’s preseason but unlike most novices, some of the hardcore Lakers fans have been tracking THT’s progress all season in SB and he is legit.

He’s not 1 dimensional. The kid has a balanced game and those freakish long arms are scary~~

One reason why a few including me said the Lakers didn’t go after a bigger wing defender is because of THT. 7’1” wingspan.

it's pre-season but if he can earn 15 mpg in the playoffs this year I'd say he was worth the pick already

Yup and the Clippers were pissed after the loss on Friday. They were putting on full court pressure on Lakers pg. They came hard at the Lakers today.

Why does the polls options tier list stop at “star”?

There should also be All Star, Super Star, and GOAT options in the poll.

i'll never understand those kinds of poster's. the guy had a great game and although it's pre season it was still a great game. if you're just gonna come in and try to rain on the parade then what's the point? you could save that dribble for the game thread. :crazy:

Summer league is for hot takes on players
Preseason is usually hot takes on teams

Preseason play usually follows in regular season unless the offense has no continuity for the player. I think that happens here, THT won't be given the ball like this to run the team like LeBron or Schroeder. He will get some burn but I doubt it's enough for him to push for an MIP awards.

I think THTs performance is replicable in season but not sure he gets the opportunity this season
