Re: Trade Deadline Countdown mega rumour thread
The Magic don't want Harris or Smart or anyone like that. The main thing is that AG is making $16mil. We're also not just gonna give him away for free like taking Boston's TPE. So we need to take a guy with a similar contract. The Magic have been hoping for young players and picks for AG.

I’m not so sure I agree with you. You never know with this ownership group and management, they don’t really seem like they are aiming for a championship so treadmill teams are good for them. I could totally see they think Harris might be a missing piece to get them to the 8th spot

Harris is not a bad piece, albeit not as good a piece as AG. But the trade might even look like AG+Fouriner or AG+Ross for Harris+Barton+future assets like Bol or RJ Hampton+a 1st rounder and some 2nd rounders. Harris expires at the end of next season, Barton at the end of this season if he doesn't take player option (which I am pretty sure he doesn't take), so it gives the Magic some flexibility with what to do + pieces to treadmill so that people keep tuning in while waiting for the injured young guys and new draft picks to be developed.
Idk, I think both FOs want smth to happen, they want to shake things up, Denver because Jokic wants roster improvements, Orlando because you guys are stuck in mediocrity with players who are not content missing the playoffs in their prime.

The deal is Hartenstein and 2 protected 2nd rounders.
Hartenstein is not good enough yet to be a backup center, too many rookie mistakes, and Denver didn't have anyone else who has appropriate size to play the 5 when Jokic is resting. Sometimes Millsap and Green were just too undersized to play the 5, but they had to because of Hartenstein's incompetence. Good stuff.

Miami is trying to sell us Duncan and Nunn as assets but in reality they are trying to run away from paying them. Why would we want them if we don't even want to resign Powell.

So what's the counter? Robinson and Precious?

Don't see that happening. I think the young headliner coming back is either Maxey or Robinson depending on which one plus another asset probably.

Yup I’m sure that’s the Raptors high request. I think this gets done with something close. And to be honest that’s a very cheap price for the Sixers considering that Lowry will resign with them.
