Re: Kevin Durant is the best player in NBA
Watching KD/LeBron fans arguing who is the bigger frontrunner by teaming up with superstars is like listening to DeAndre Jordan and Andre Drummond argue who is worse at shooting FTs. LeBron and Durant are both front runners. LeBron is the better player though.

Bron and KD stans are wild. One dude says GSW KD is the best player since Jordan, another quotes him and says Wade was washed up coming off his 2010 season.
What's the point of arguing if you're both going to be so completely dishonest?

Wade was still close to prime Wade that first finals against the Mavs but after that, he was on a fairly steep decline. He was still a good player in 2012 but by 2013 he was looking washed and a shell of his prime self.

Both guys are embarrassments. Although Lebron has at least one title without a top-5 player teammate (2016), and 2 if you don't consider 2013 Wade to be a top-5 player anymore.

Literally all 4 of LeBron's rings came without a top 5 teammate. 2012 and 2013 Wade is not top 5. 2013 Wade averaged 16 ppg in the playoffs for crying out loud. Nobody on 2016 Cavs is close to top 5. 2020 AD can be considered borderline with Giannis/LeBron/Kawhi/Harden/Doncic clearly ahead.
KD on the other hand will never have a ring without a top 5 teammate. Or a ring where his team isn't spectacular without him. LeBron's "super teams" on the other hand would be borderline playoff teams without him. And that's best case scenario.
And now somebody will chime in with a gem like "but KD just did it better and LeBron fans are madddd ha ha ha
". Ah yes, I can't imagine the level of skill, intellect and will power it must have taken to join a 73-win roster or recruit a disgruntled Harden to NJ. LeBron was clearly too stupid to join rosters that were already stacked. What a dummy.

It is a good problem, except Lakers had a Phil Jackson zen master to control and balance egos when one player started getting all the credit. Don't think Steve nash with no coaching experience is that.

Re: Kevin Durant is the best player in NBA
Dirk beat both front runners single handily (tho KD was young and not a Front runner at the time) and that will be one of the most remembered playoffs runs.
KD hasn't been beat front running yet. Lebron has.
We will see what happens this year.

LOL so LeBron deserves to be praised because Wade broke down due to injures?
Why does that matter? His intention was to play with another top 5 player.
Just like his intention was to recruit Kawhi to make another Superteam.
Its so bizarre that you're praising LeBron for a mentality he never had. He always looked for the easy way out and tried to stack the deck in his favor.
The Nets are not "spectacular" without him btw. They just won a few games in the regular season v mostly bad teams.

Him and Bron are 1 and 2 and it's been that way for a long time lol. Could go either way and it won't be a wrong answer. KD is the greatest scorer ever, dude has mastered that part of the game for sure.

Excuse me?
I'll take a healthy Kevin Durant over any player not named Jordan. Without question.
He became the most efficient high volume scorer EVER while playing in the most inefficient offensive system EVER under the Scott Brooks Thunder.
By the 2019 Playoffs, Kevin Durant was toying with the game in a way I've only seen Jordan do. Except KD was doing something even Jordan hasn't.
He was the first player ever to average 30 ppg on 50/40/90 for an entire playoff run. He was having an absolutely historic run until his injury, once he woke up against the Clippers.
People are so in their feelings because Durant derailed any legitimate shot the LeBron train had at reaching GOAT status.
They know that people will always remember KD abusing and dominating LeBron on the biggest stages and usurping the throne from him.
The Achilles injury literally saved LeBron's legacy

If you don't think he's the best, he'll just join up with another first or second team all-NBA player to show you how great he really is.

Frankly, the league will be better when they both retire, especially if the younger players have the decency to avoid mimicking them and actually try to compete against each other.
Having said that, Lebron is obviously the better player. Harden is also a better player as he can run the offense while still being an excellent scorer.
Make no mistake, if the idiot in Houston hadnt gifted them Harden, Durant and the flat earther were going to get humbled in the postseason, healthy or not. Especially, without their army of ring chasers.

Not, but nice try. Great player, obviously way up there, but he's simply not the best. Sure, he's remained consistent as a fantastic shooter, and even came back from a tough injury, but I mean c'mon. LeBron's the obvious choice and that's just at surface level.

Re: Kevin Durant is the best player in NBA
The only thing LeBron does better than Durant is pass.
The gap in their shooting ability is just as wide, and KD's shooting is far more reliable in high leverage moments than LeBron's passing.
Case in point? Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals.
Durant dribbles the ball down the court and pulls up for game-clinching 3-pointer in LeBron's face.
Advantage: KD's otherworldy shooting ability
What does LeBron do? Dribble down the court and pass to Kyle Korver...who clanks the shot.
You see, in those high leverage moments, give me KD over LeBron any day of the week.
The most efficient shotmaker in the history of the game opens up the court for other players, even without dominating the ball like LeBron, which makes him much easier to play with.
If you put Durant on that 2011 Heat, they're flat out not losing the 2011 NBA Finals. If you put Durant on the 2014 Heat, they're not getting blown out by a record Finals margin.
Wade and Bosh and Kyrie and Love wouldn't have to adjust or downgrade their games to play with Durant, like they did with LeBron.
So if you're keeping track:
Durant's shotmaking and his malleability with other star players gives him a higher value and raises the ceiling of his teams.
People see peak offensive numbers and assume it's because "Durant is on a stacked team", without realizing that the main engine for why the time is at an all-time great offensive level is Kevin freaking Durant.
Even those Thunder teams with AWFUL spacing and stale, predictable isolation offenses were still top level solely because of Kevin Durant.
If you want LeBron, you'll get a great floor raiser, but Kevin Durant is a great CEILING raiser. The best ever. Surround him with other great players and he's unbeatable. The same is obviously not true with LeBron.

Re: Kevin Durant is the best player in NBA
Curry is the best player in the NBA. At the very least the best offensive player in the NBA. Has been for for the larger portion of 6 years outside of peak Lebron moments. I don't care who wins "Finals MVP" in sweeps when one team is focusing all of their attention on the most dangerous offensive weapon since MJ. We all saw who that team was ran by and how they faired with/without each player (definitely no shortage of sample size).
KD is incredible, but he's not a playmaker and has THRIVED with defenses not being able to double him. He has STRUGGLED in other key playoff series when his teammates have gone down and he’s faced constant doubles. Why do we not mention this more often concerning his skill set? Curry has never known a playoff series where he is not doubled/tripled/box and 1'd, with or without KD on the floor. He still dominates far more often than not. Food for thought.
