His EFG% so far this season is 50% which is fairly good for a 2nd year high volume scoring guard and his career EFG% is 49% which includes horrible stretch he had during first half of rookie. season. For comparison, Mitchell's career eFG% is 50%, Booker's career eFG% is 50%..his efficiency so far isn't any different from these guys. Also, keep in mind that Ant came in as much more raw player than these guys. I still think he needs more time to improve as a playmaker.

till this big game, that minny lost by 15 any way, his efficiency was a trash chucker

no...it wasn't...his EFG% before this game was around 48% for this season (which is still a relatively small 10 game sample size) and it jumped to 50% after yesterday's game which is pretty much close with his career average...he first 2 months of rookie season was horrible efficiency wise but since ASB of rookie season, his efficiency has been consistently average-above average. His EFG% in his rookie season pre-ASB was just 43% which was terrible but post-ASB it got much better to 53% and this was across 36 games. I even gave comparisons with other recent young guards and there really isn't much difference in efficiency of Ant and those players despite Ant coming into league as much more raw player

Lol at the amount of nit-picking with Edwards' efficiency right now. He's a 20-year old putting up 26 a game on current league average efficiency, and the T-Wolves offense has been a dumpster fire whenever he's off the court (107.8 Off-Rtg on, 89.3 off :o ). Seems like the new rules are really causing a lot of people to revisit how scoring efficiency the last half decade has been artificially inflated due to loopholes in officiating, but I mean, some of us have been saying this for years...

Ant is a beast.

Too bad he will be stuck in losing Minnesota for the next several years

*Anthony Edwards scores 48 points impressively and efficiently*
RedSalsa: “he lost dough, breh…”

*Anthony Edwards wins MVP*
RedSalsa: “but he’ll neva be DPOY!”

*Anthony Edwards finds cure for cancer*
Red Salsa: “but wut boutz Covid?”

I called Ant “Wiggins 2.0” when he was coached by girls HS coach, Ryan Saunders, but I was completely wrong about him. He’s got potential to be the best scoring guard in the league. Just wait until he starts getting those missed calls at the rim.

I enjoy watching this kid play and if the rules the game continues to allow for more physical play I think his stock will continue to rise.

Genuinely time to dump KAT and build around Edwards.

It's so hard to build around a max C who plays no defense. KAT is fools gold

I watched the whole game last night. I noticed during a timeout that Edwards was so giddy with himself when he reached 40 while trailing by 10+. Everyone else on the Wolves didn't look too happy being down.

Dude has the tools to be great but needs a lot of mental growth.

I watched the whole game too, and the only one being alienated by the team was KAT. Beasley straight up ignored him and even D'Lo was dogging him out for not going after a loose ball. Then KAT walked away from the huddle while Ant was trying to pep talk the team.

KAT looks checked out. I dont think he'll be in Minnesota much longer if this keeps up.

I'll judge Edwards by his efficiency and Timberwolves winning pct when he is on his max contract

What's a realistic return for KAT from Wolves fans' point of view?

So why are people saying Ball is a star then???

Lamelo is playing out of his mind. AE has been pleasant. But the question is, where tf is Wiseman these days? he was sorry last year and is he still hurt? Wiseman is a big disappointment

Guards who play little or no defense in the nba often get a pass. And centers get most of the blame. Problem for Minnesota is they got Edwards dlo playing no defense in addition to KAT playing no defense. That’s 3 players on the same court all wanting the ball on offense and non playing defense. Edward’s is developing bad habits.

A towns trade to Atlanta for capela (can he even get traded yet?) plus reddish and a first may be reasonable trade.

But you got to have at least 3 guys on the floor who at least care about playing defense. Pat Bev and Mcdaniels play defense.

MIN gets Lavine, Simmons
CHI gets KAT
PHI gets Dlo

add in picks/swaps to balance, but in terms of cap the above trade is legal.

If I was philly I wouldn't want dlo.

I don't see why Chicago would do that to pair Vuc and Kat?

Then why would Min want lavine and edwards?

Strange trade tbh

I understand your objections.

For Philly: they would want the pick or the pick swap (if you don't think they want to draft players at this point it is still good as an asset for trades), and to be done with Simmons. Also DLo, while not great, at least replaces some of the ball handling Simmons provided. DLo also only has 1 more contract year compared to Simmons 55.

For Chicago: I think this is the actually the best objection, but I'm not sure Vuc is as good as advertised, and also you can play them at same time because KAT is money from outside.

For Minny: I don't see an issue with Ant + Lavine. Chicago runs Lavine plus Demar. I think two strong wings are actually a great way to start a core for a team.

Theres no way Chicago would trade Lavine for KAT. They are playing well and Lavine is one of the top guards in the league. He also fits their team way better and is just plain better than KAT at this point.

Personally I think they should trade Towns and DLo for picks and prospects and build around Ant. Both Towns and DLo have put up good stats but haven't proven to be winners and the last thing you want is for that to rub off on Ant too.

GB trashed this kid pre draft cause of his shooting percentages. His talent was obvious though and the fact he wasn't scared of big volume was gonna lead to a big time player.

I would love for those trashing Ant's efficiency to investigate players they think were not trash, and report back on how efficient those players were at the same stage of their careers. Wade? Butler? Kobe? Heck, look at Lebron...he was at .554 TS% through his second year. Let us know when you find someone who was on a materially higher trajectory than Ant at the same stage of their career.
