Hunter being out frees up more playing time for other players. This might be a blessing in disguise.

Remember how the Suns started off slow earlier in the season and are now on the longest winning streak? People need to learn to stop discounting established teams because of slow starts. This is what makes the East so tough. It’s hard to see who’s a pretender and who’s for real. Bucks and Hawks are 10th and 11th respectively, it’s only a matter of time before they rise in the standings.

there's only one established team in this entire post. one season success =/= established.

Hawks are now 7-9 with another solid win tonight. Team is really coming on even with the injuries to Hunter and OO.

Is that it?
Cavs played tonight without 4 starters.

It could be in more ways than one. Not only does it look like Huerter and Reddish will get more playing time/experience; but Hunter has a chance to be 100% healthy by the playoffs.

The Cavaliers have been decimated recently. Very similar to the Hawks last season when they suffered extended injuries to Bogdanovic, Hunter, and Reddish ...

Hawks eat up the Hornets to improve to 8-9. Where are all the haters at now? Pretty quiet with their mouths full of crow.

All the John Collins haters in the Hawks front office are pretty quiet with their mouths full of crow. He's their most consistent player.

As a Hawks fan you have to love the way Reddish, Huerter, and Galinari are stepping up. Capela is contributing more offensively as well.

Bumping a thread saying a team sucks when they're winning is stupid. Perhaps that is why they aren't bumping it to the top. Though 8-9 isn't really winning though.

This thread is what's known as hyperbole. Creating a thread about poor starts is one thing. Using it as ammo to flame individual players is immature at best.

Expect this one to continue being bumped. Meanwhile the Trae/Hawks haters can seethe with envy as their solid play continues.

I've not had one negative thing to say about the Hawks. They have too much talent for the 4-9 record to have ever been reflective.

But I don't that at 8-9 I'd be taking the victory lap several posters appear to be doing either. Because 8-9 looks great compared to 4-9 for sure, but it looks bad compared to reasonable expectations for the Hawks headed into the season.

Certain things need to be accounted for. Slow starts are part and parcel every season. The Hawks slow start is no worse than the Bucks slow start. Taking the Hawks #1 toughest schedule to start the season, I would say its a lot less surprising than the Bucks slow start.

Victory lap, smickory lap... I am not seeing this that way. Just making points and following up on them. One being your take that the Hawks are too talented and too well coached to stay under .500 ( losing record ) for very long. I very much agree with that. This thread was just another open season Trae hate thread for about 25% of the responders. They are just having to read what they deserve now...

Heck if you see it as a victory lap and don't like it, don't click on it.

Maybe but I think the Hawks are a much deeper/talented team overall. They are still very young and still learning how to win.

I don't consider you one of the haters fwiw.

I am talking about the posters jumping up and down with glee when the Hawks had injuries and a schedule straight from hell. All of those games against playoff teams, all of them on the road and with almost ZERO rest days between the games. No team was going to look good with that situation.

the hawks problem is their run last yr was all fake manufactured after trae cried for help.
atlanta was forced to hire 1 yr mercenaries for surprise run much like chicago is doing rn.
getting to 2nd round once isnt that hard i could get there whenever i want if i have a team like the hawks. the challenge is to get past 2nd round for decades and become a powerhouse. collins/hunter/picks are probably their last treasure heist before trae quits. atlanta could easily become like boston tanking every yr.

this is why you dont listen to star players bc they dont know crap abt gming whining like kids. let them leave better than wasting time with divas. poor man's steph and klay with gs wannanbe fo isnt winning anything without a draymond.

LeBron wanted help and left for Miami. He wanted help again and left for Cleveland. He wanted help again and left for LA.
Durant wanted help and left for GSW. He wanted help again and left for Brooklyn.
Kyrie wanted help and left for Boston. He wanted help again and left for Brooklyn.
AD wanted help and he left for LA.
Harden wanted help and left ( finally ) for Brooklyn.

I am cool with Trae wanting help. I am even cooler with the Hawks getting him help. If this bothers you, you should probably stop following the NBA. Star players want their teams to be better. I think part of this is due to the nature of being a winner and having very high expectations.
